My goal is to lose 2-3 stone in the next year. I'm not overly fussed about how much I weigh, but I would like to get back down to a 10/12. I was a 16 when I moved here 4 years ago; just from the lack of car and having to walk places, I was a 14 the day I left the hospital after having DD. By her 1st birthday, I was down to a size 10. Then, over the next two years, I crept back up to a 14, and then I got pregnant with DS, was on crutches for the entire 3rd trimester and piled on even more weight. I'm now back up to a 16. DS is 5 months old now and I haven't been able to shift any of it.
My motivation has been my neighbor. Over the last couple of years, she has lost a total of 7.5 stone or so. She got me a guest pass to her gym, and I went and loved it. So, I joined two weeks ago. We go 3-5 times a week, and I'm loving it so far. It's also great because it gets me out of the house, and it's time just for me. I'm primarily doing the tradmill, bikes, and swimming at the moment. I also know that once I have worked out for an hour or two, my reward is time in the steam room
The odd bonus with the steam room is even though it is fairly dark, it's really improved my mood, which tends to go pear-shaped every winter. I think I miss hot weather more than I realized.
