My expensive Sennheisers went dead in one ear, I didn't really want to shell out £80 for a new pair, so checked on Amazon, as I ordered them in September 2011 they were still under warranty, ten minutes on live chat and I will receive a new pair in four days.

Amaze!

Yay! Same exact thing just happened with my Kindle. I received my new one just a couple days later. Amazon customer service is awesome.

I don't think I've ever been so happy to have 3 solid days of clouds and rain. There's too much dang sun in this country. Waking up without the blazing sun pouring in has been wonderful!

Whee!! Hope it goes well!  ;D
Just saw this. Thanks! And congratulations to you! :D

My UP: The thai restaurant we go to regularly... They are so wonderful. We went last night for my birthday dinner, and when I came through the door on crutches, one of the waitresses nearly cried! Her eyes were actually welling up. She told me it was like seeing a family member hurt. How sweet? (To be fair, she is pregnant, so I think she's quite hormonal! ;) ) Got to our table and they had a happy birthday banner up for me. And then when they brought out my cake, she gave me a birthday present! I was so touched. Every single person that works there is lovely and it feels more like we're going to see friends than going out to dinner every time we go. :) Made my birthday feel really special even though I'm a cripple. ;D

I found a bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch in the cupboard!  It wasn't even behind things so I can't figure out how I forgot it was there.

I put on jeans this morning and found $120 in the pocket! I haven't worn these jeans, or any really, for weeks because I've been living in skirts and dresses. VERY pleasant surprise!

Also, had a night out with NOT last night that started out with insanely strong $2.50 happy hour rum & cokes (in Manhattan!!) and went from there. Amazingly, I'm not nearly as hung over as by rights I should be this morning so yay. And of course, had a lovely time with NOT. :)

Luck you! I always feel rich when I find $5 in my winter coat.  :P

(but there's no way I could fail to notice that I was missing that much money!)

I wait tables so I always have a lot of cash on hand, unless I'm super good about putting money in the ATM every night (other people are standing at ATMs at 1 am on a Friday night to take money out...I'm putting it in). Anyway, I DID think a few weeks ago that I had about $100 less than I should but I wasn't really sure and figured that I had spent it or was remembering wrong or had in fact put it in the bank. Anyway, turns out I was wrong. So yay.

My UP today is that the bagel I got for breakfast this morning was warm. I love super-fresh bagels and a warm, right out of the oven one is the best. I don't like to toast my fresh bagels--only stale or day-old ones or the kind you buy at the grocery store--so a nice warm one was a good treat.

AWESOME and yay! Seriously, I should not have been able to move from my bed yesterday, but I woke up rather chipper and feeling only slightly rough around the edges. It was that magical grilled cheese I tell you!  :D

My UP for today: I somehow slept for nearly 11 hours. I cannot remember the last time I slept past 7. I went to bed at 10 last night at woke up at 8:45! Wheeee!  :)

MIL called yesterday evening and said a parcel had arrived for me. We had her open it, and it is a rugby shirt, rugby ball and football I won in a Fuller's Fine Ale Club competition. She is going to put them all in a box we have ready to be shipped over, and it will be here sometime next week.

Hubby will probably end up with it all, unless I really like the shirt. In that case he will get the rest of it. Still, winning was nice.  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

FIL works as a caretaker for a primary school, where they've just put in a pool.  8) None of the kids have used it yet, so we broke it in yesterday. We were in there for at least 5 hours. It was wonderful... And my knee had been bothering me all morning, but being in the water seemed to help! (I guess since I was moving it with so much less pressure.)

For many reasons, some personal, some work related, I have had a really, really, hard week, I've been trying to hold it together but have been less/more successful at different times of the week.

So today, I rewarded myself with a new dress, it is swoon worthy.

*swoon*

*double swoon*

:D
