I went to check out a new kennel to board my dog at when we go away to Germany next month... expected mediocrity, but it was actually pretty nice, and they even had a lounging room with big couches and cushy chairs for the dogs to lie around on!   That would be right up my dog's street!  :)

I was coming into JFK on Christmas and the Customs agent (Very thick Long Island Accent, which I always love to hear when I am first coming back into NY) ASKED ME OUT!!!!!  Hello.  Even after I said I was married and 5 months pregnant, his answer to that, "But I can cook Stacey!!!!" it was hysterical.  And ego boosting to say the least.

My siamese kittens purring in my ear, waking me up in the morning.  [smiley=smitten.gif]
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in his shoes. That way if he gets angry, he'll be a mile away - and barefoot. ;D

Having vacation days that I'd forgotten about so my paycheck for the last two weeks wasn't as thin as I was worried it was going to be. :)

meeting a new friend online, who lives only 20 minutes from my hometown, has a birthday two days before mine, and hit it off so well i will go to visit her before i return to England!
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

I've been so impressed with the people I have dealt with in terms of midwives, health visitors, speech therapists, audiologists in my 2 1/2 years in the UK.

They are all so kind and helpful with my children.  I really appreciate that.

My sister had to have speech therapy in the US in the late seventies, early eighties and I just remember my mother wasn't allowed to go in with her, they would talk about her in front of her ("Well, she can't do THAT either", etc) and my mother would leave in tears every time.

I have a wonderful GP here in York, too.  We sat talking for 1/2 hr last time I was there, and she was so kind and understanding.
