Sorting through all my old emails and coming across a few love emails hubby sent me when we were first dating [smiley=smitten.gif]

Don't you just love that!

My sister inviting my family over for dinner because her hubby cooked a huge vat of slowcooker chili!  And *bonus!* I don't have to cook!

A dear Professor friend of mine (who's from York) has graciously offered to help me with my CV.   [smiley=2thumbsup.gif] He actually had a full-ride academic scholarship to Oxford! :o  I didn't know those existed!

At the weekend, I was re-reading the e-mails that DH & I exchanged when we were first getting to know each other (we saved them in a Word document).  Also, for our first Valentines Day as a dating couple -- and right after he'd been to visit me in Florida for the first time -- he wrote me a really nice (skillfully written) poem...in French!   (I started out looking for that poem & then ended up reading the emails too.)  [smiley=love.gif]

After years of searching and failed attempts at securing a house ..My MIL got her dream land in Paxos just in time for her milestone B-day..It was terrific hearing her on the phone so happy getting the email saying she's got her house and land!  I guess I'm going to have to search and buy her a donkey ..We said we would get her one to use as a shopping trolley ;D

But never fear, gentlemen; castration was really not the point of feminism, and we women are too busy eviscerating one another to take you on.

Recognising that even though there is a lot of crap in my life right now, there is so much more good.  I have a wonderful imperfect husband, great imperfect kids and kind, loyal imperfect friends.  They love me and forgive me many imperfections.  Life, though difficult, is actually quite good.  [smiley=mellow.gif]

Having my DD go from saying mum mum mum, to actually saying Momma for the first time.  Every time she sees me, she reaches out and says, "Momma."  It just makes my heart melt.  I just feel so blessed to have her! :D

A nice venture out in the park with Vince without
someone mentioning or asking why is his tail been
snipped by some busy body
lady that doesn't have anything better to do ::)
I swear with the number of times  I get asked that I
could easily just buy him a bloody new tail by now :-\\\\
Keep your dog on a lead and mind your own dog! Sheesh !>:(
Even got a chance to play a bit of fetch without any problems in the park;D
Rare treat for him! He loved it ;D

to ask a question or to point out that something is not to their liking...god forbid
if it was a celeb's dog
then of course it would be wrong to intrude.

Having really nice neighbours, who look out for you and help if you have a problem..

( To elaborate: I put out our bags for recycling last night, plastics, newspapers, etc...The council supplied everyone with these really crappy bags but that's a story for another board! ;)

Anyway, it was really windy and I went out early this morning to find that all my recycling had been blown ALL OVER the road, garden, everywhere. And my recycling bags were gone. >:(

I picked up as much as I could find and rang the council for replacement bags, which were out of stock..

This afternoon, my neighbours came over and presented me with new recycling bags, one of which came with a fold over top!  They personally went down to the council , to complain, on my behalf...

I thought that was a really nice thing to do.. It made my day! :)

That was very thoughtful. :)

Calling a friend on the weekend and FINALLY finding her at home!
Unexpectedly, she cancelled her trip to the mountains AND had her boys
nearby so I got to talk to ALL of them at once!
THAT was definite plus!
I know I'm late - where's the booze?
