Just went to lakeland and got the Phillips.  they didn't even have the Panasonic one anymore.  I really liked that one too, it was so tiny!!!

Let me know how you like it, Stacey! Tomorrow I'm making cherry ice cream! Yum! I've got a bowl of cherries soaking in rum overnight right now!

I will.  My kitchen is being re-done this week, so I have to wait till next to do it.

After a trip to Rome last year, I HAD to have a gelato machine. It makes absolutely the BEST coffee gelato ever. I've been too afraid to try any other flavors. Well, not afraid. Just that the coffee is so darn good. But it takes an afternoon of committment, so I don't do it often.

Near disaster last night! I put my ice cream custard in the maker, plugged it in and turned it on to start churning. I went in the living room to watch TV. About 20 minutes later, I heard this terrible clatter coming from the kitchen. My first thought was that the cat had climbed up on the counter and was getting into things -- odd, since he's never done that before. I went in there ready to yell at him and kick (not literally) some kitten butt, but he was nowhere in sight. It seems I hadn't "clicked" the lid of the ice cream maker into place properly, and it had come loose, with the churny bit flipping ice cream all over the kitchen counter and wall! Yikes! After an extensive clean-up, I was able to salvage about 2/3 of the ice cream, so all was not lost. But ... just a warning, Stacey! The top of the ice cream maker is a bit fiddly, so make sure it's securely clicked before you start it up!

By the way, the end result was FABULOUS! (Your recipe for cherry ice cream)

That's the thing I love about the ice cream maker! I just rummage around in the cabinet to see what's there and what might taste good in ice cream! Then I just toss it in! Nuts, chocolate chunks, lentils, cat treats, etc.

(just seeing if you were paying attention ;) )
