Oh dear, expat, you're beginning to worry me w/this Imperial Leather obsession!!!  ;)
When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

But never fear, gentlemen; castration was really not the point of feminism, and we women are too busy eviscerating one another to take you on.

I always assumed that it was American.  The only contact info on their website is for Seattle and New York.

Re Monopoly, there are also stories that Charles Darrow was influenced by earlier games which had a similar property trading element and which had been around for some years before he planned out his famous Atlantic City version and added the various trimmings such as "Chance" and "Community Chest" cards.

The latter, incidentally, have changed a little over the years, with some cards being dropped and others added.  The British version also used variations in the cards (beyond just the conversion from dollars to pounds and the substitution of names).

The U.K. version was originally marketed here by Waddingtons.  I'm not sure when they were bought out, but they were certainly still selling the British version of Monopoly in the 1970s (I have such a set, along with an early 1960s American version).

See, Mindy has never heard of Altoids!  I tell you they are banned from Surrey!

Those Ginger ones are looking good.  I will get us some when I go back Helen!

I have the sour cherry and apple gum, they are so gross!  I give them to people I don't like ;)

I was just thinking about Victoria's Secret. The way the market themselves as British, and the way the spokesmodels in their ads speak in British accents. I had no idea till recently that they are an American company and many Brits have never heard of them.

I found this on their web site:

London Fog is a great American apparel brand. Created in the 1920s, London Fog became the ubiquitous symbol of American rainwear in the 1960s with the introduction of the classic trench. Ranked #32 of the top 100 brands by Women’s Wear Daily, London Fog continues to enjoy iconic status.

Sounds American to me! :)

I always thought they were Australian because I'd seen their shops in New Zealand and Australia.
