Equestrian -->  What eye surgery are you getting?  If it's lasik, I had it done several years ago and DH had it done two months ago.  There's not much to do in terms of prep and recovery.  The doctor should give you all the drops you need for post, and nothing really needs to be done for pre.

Re mice problem --> Don't get poison for INSIDE the house!  It's true, then you can't find the corpses and they stink up the place.

Phat -->  If J didn't have to do to work, whcy isn't HE cleaning the mould instead of lounging???

J --> Sorry about your pain - I really hope it clears up

As I was writing last night here about Poppy, I thought to myself, "thank God she doesn't bring me stuff the way some dogs and cats do as if saying, look Mamma, look what you can be proud of me for!"  But the first thing I found coming down from the bedroom right in the middle of the second floor landing this morning?  The little corpse of a baby bird.

Ewwww.  That was a minor inconvenience.  Now for one a bit greater --

I was put on Lyrica for a neuropathic disorder and what seems to be fibromyalgia.  They're still trying to figure out the dose because at the top dose, which I was on last week, I got the not so uncommon side effect of not being able to pee and not even wanting to, so I swelled up like a balloon.  So this week I've tapered down, some of the pain is back but that's not really an issue right now, the issue is, normally I am fine with 5-6 hours' sleep a night but now I can brely stay awake, and I'm getting a good 9 hours' sleep and I could sleep all day if I let myself. Ha, I wish he would. He doesn't live with me, so its not really his cleaning to do.

No, it's cataract surgery, so a bit more complicated. I'm only getting one eye done, as well, which is where the confusion comes in...pre-surgery I just wear my glasses as normal, but post-surgery, one eye won't need glasses, so I need to figure out what I have to do instead, and how to get that done (i.e. get fitted for a single contact lens, order those lenses, etc).

Sorry you aren't feeling well.  :(

My IA: we were going to celebrate my ILR tonight with a nice bottle of wine, but now I've been put on antibiotics, so I won't be able to celebrate. And I'm in pain.  :(

Or everyday, like in my case  ;D

Mine is, my new boss and my old boss (who is the head of our department, so ultimately my boss, and the one who was mean to me last Friday) are arguing. Why? Who knows, but passive aggressive IMs to me about it aren't going to solve matters.

I don't know if my new boss is going to make it through his probation, he's nice and all but just a bit...much... definitely needs to chillax and be a little less in everyone's face.

Argh, my c key is randomly not working. Restarting appears to get it to work, but only briefly.

I write code for a living, so it's kind of important to be able to include "c"s in there. (Not to mention copy/paste! Which is the only way I have the ability to type a c now, sadly.)

My dog is officially getting old.  He has arthritis in his right knee and needs help to get on the couch or my bed now. (Yes I know, I shouldn't allow him on the bed or the couch but it brings him/me so much joy I do not care) He hasn't even been able to do a full walk without limping lately.  He's only 8 and I really don't want him to pass while I'm in the UK.  :(

P.S. He's a very big dog, 100 lbs and only a bit overweight.  So, I know that big dogs have a shorter lifespan.

Dealing with elderly pets is really rough.  My cats are 13 and have had some big health scares lately, and I worry about them constantly.  I know it's WAY easier said than done, but try to enjoy the time you have.

 :)

Hang in there.

Thanks for the kind words.  I know he's had a lovely life, but when I took him to the vet last time there was a sobbing man holding a choco lab in the entry (like my baby) and I almost had to leave I was so upset.  The receptionist told me after he went down the hall that the dog was very ill and in pain and he was having to euthanise him.  I can't imagine.

I'm sorry.  :( I know how you feel as my puppster back home with my parents just turned 9 in April.  It's tough watching them get old and it doesn't help that he's the same age that my last dog was when he died (they're the same breed).  The best you can do is enjoy all those couch and bed cuddles.  Hugs.
