Hope your BIL has everything working and better again soon JennBean.

For me, I forgot to charge my laptop last night and now I have to wait until it charges before I can leave, because I'm going to be using it in a place where I can't plug it in.  Such a dummy.  :P

There was a fire drill at work this morning, which wasted half an hour of my day.

The FRAKKING Royal Mail and their FRAKKING call centers in Scotland with 16 year-olds answering the phones in an accent I can't understand!  And my local (but half an hour away) delivery office that closes at noon with no way to talk to a LIVE person directly!

This is getting beyond inconvenient...

I've been on antibiotics for nearly a week and the infection seems to be getting worse instead of better, and it's more painful. I called the GP and the receptionist was a bit rude and said I could only get in on Monday morning. If that's the case, then unfortunately, the way things are looking, I may have to go to the hospital tomorrow, since the antibiotics they gave me weren't strong enough.  :-\\\\ :\\\'( I've been taking ibuprofen for the pain and swelling, and it's been helping with the pain a bit, but I'm still all swollen and discoloured. I can tell this isn't getting better.  :-X

This (english) person who've visited america, was trying to tell ME about america and what america is like and how america is run!
She was actually lecturing me about how america is how it doesnt have anything similiar NHS and how they have to pay for their healthcare.. she then went on about how the US immigration works and blah blah blah blah.
. ::)   I politely explained to her that I already know this..because <gasp> I myself am american!
Sunshine... You must not be that clued up on America if you cant even pick up on an american accent and had to be told that Im american...dumbass

Nearly a week and still no improvement at all?   :-[ :o

I would definitely be at least calling your GP's office again (maybe you'll get a different receptionist?), and if they can't see you, a definite trip to the hospital.

My mom always stressed to me (and I think it's a very valid point too) that you know your body the best.  And if you can tell something isn't right, then chances are, something isn't right.

Hoping you'll feel better soon, and get seen ASAP!

My BIL was submitted to the hospital last night as he has something blocking the valve to his heart.  He may need a stint put in and DH is away and MIL and SIL are carless and don't drive so I will be quite busy.

I do hope it all turns out ok

Fingers crossed for you and your BIL!  *sending healing thoughts your way*

Oh man, that's not good.  I hope you can be seen straight away, otherwise, A&E is definitely your best bet.  Otherwise, you're going to end up with a worse infection and worse problems.

Thanks, everyone. I called NHS Direct this morning and they said I definitely had to get in somewhere today, even if it was the infirmary or hospital.  :-\\\\ (Since I didn't do anything about it yesterday, I woke up with big red streaks again  :-[.) Fortunately, when I called my GP's office and told them what NHS Direct said, they were able to fit me in for a quickie appt with my GP, who I really like. She's given me some super dooper antibiotics (some sort of penicillin) and wants me to keep taking the other ones at the same time. Hopefully that will do the trick, and if no improvement by next week, then I will need to see her again. So, fingers crossed. Since I don't like taking prescription painkillers (they make me very naseous), under my GP's advice I'm now alternating paracetamol and ibuprofen every 2 hours, which is helping with the pain a bit. Thanks for all the well wishes.

Jenn, hope your BIL is going to be okay. (((HUGS)))

Hope you feel better soon Jewlz.  That sounds like it's no fun.  :(

My IA: This morning I was baking chicken for my wrap for lunch and totally forgot about it.  It looks completely inedible.
