They sell Krispy Kreme in our local Tesco as well as having a stand at our local shopping mall. So they are becomimg more available.  Peanut Butter cups are available here to. Our sweet shop sells them as well as several other imports as well as Mountain Dew!  We have Cheez-its too. Actually just had some at a pub today!

LOL... I'll have to send my fiance a link to this thread then.  He told me when he was here, that he couldn't find these in York.  I'll have to tease him a bit.   ;)  Thanks everyone for all the help!

omg... where do they sell peanut butter cups?  Last time I was there for any length of time, my dad ended up paying too much just to send me some.  They work like a charm as a pick-me-up.

Yeah you can even get them in little convenience stores sometimes - my DH gets them every once in a while for me!

(I know they have dr. pepper there, but it doesn't taste the same to me, I think I may just be too picky)

It's not just you...I agree!  I rarely buy Dr. Pepper here.  I find it really sweet.

And on the subject of soft drinks, I would pay a lot for a root beer!

Oooh I've got 4 cans of Mug Root Beer sitting in my fridge right now.... :D
For DH's birthday a few years ago we had a root beer tasting party.  We asked everyone to bring a different kind and we had about 20 or so brands.  Then we made everyone write notes....we still have them - they are hilarious!

A guy sells A&W root beer (regular and diet) on EBay.... i went through a phase of craving it a year or 2 ago and always bought from him.  It was £20 for a case, which included shipping....

Straight off the plane I demanded Mexican food for dinner. It was yummy.

Next day, double double at In n Out

Mug Root Beer was on special so a case is sitting in the pantry, it satisfied.

For you peanut butter cup lovers, have you tried the Easter egg shapped cups?... oh yum! A lovely blend of peanut butter and chocolate without the hard ridges in the way!

I just got back -- didn't get around to eating ALL of the stuff I wanted, I just couldn't eat that much!  After being away, IHOP and Carrabbas were kind of disappointing in taste -- didn't seem as good as I remembered. :-\\\\  The best meals out I had were Mexican food from just a local restaurant (in Kansas) owned & operated by Mexican-Americans (God bless Mexican immigrants to the USA!) and a dinner we had in a microbrewery/restaurant in downtown Chattanooga, TN -- think I had some kind of gourmet meatloaf there and DH had a killer jambalaya.  Also, Greek food in Tarpon Springs, FL (a Greek community).  My brother made some great (big!) breakfasts when we stayed with him & his wife -- they sort of tend toward a South Beach/Atkins style diet, so lots of steak, eggs, sausage, chillies -- breakfast burrito type stuff.

What I brought back:  sandhill plum jelly from Kansas (childhood memory kind of thing), two boxes of Triscuit (regular & rosemary flavored), one box of graham crackers, Cholula hot sauce, and a few packs of whole dried chillies (Ancho chillies and hot New Mexican chillies).  And some Cracklin' Oat Bran for a UKY friend who has become obsessed with thinking about it... ;)

Yes, I was looking for them on my last minute sweep through Wal-Mart, but just bought what they had. :)

And if any of you other chiliheads out there have good recipes using dried ancho (or other big red dried chilis) - please share!  I did a stupid thing...I was going to bring some stuff back from out of my storage unit (in Florida) -- including my Tex-Mex cookbook(s?)...but I left the damn key behind in England.  [smiley=doh.gif]  Maybe next year... :-[

I do but are you ready to do some sort of time consuming cooking?  All mine seem to take a while to make so I rarely make them!
