Gosh, I'm sorry I didn't spot this thread earlier.
I'm counting down until September 1, when Dave is coming for a glory-us 22-day visit. Sigh.
It's been nearly 7 months since I've seen him in person, and I'm getting very very anxious indeed to be with him.  :D
Congrats on everyone's visas, milestones, and hard work!  :) I'm sure as soon as he leaves, I'll be starting yet another countdown until I can see him again.

(p.s. I like the "Fridays" idea. You're right, it doesn't seem so horrible when you think of it that way.)

19 days...I have 19 DAYS!!!!  I have so much to do, I have to move out of my apartment, and ship my wedding dress (Again thanks terrorists) and give my car back to the dealership (I wish it would have sold), say goodbye to Dillinger my precious dog for 6 months, and well wait out that long boring plane ride all the while sitting on pins and needles.  Then (and this is the hard part) not running through immigration cause I know Roy is on the other side, waiting for me.  I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

Yay everyone we are almost there!

Mekaw - that's fabulous news.  It will not fall through this time.  He'll be here.

musesings - you're only counting down to September 1st?  After a 7 month wait it will be here in no time.  Excellent news.

I'm counting down to September, going to celebrate my birthday with my little birthday present from two years ago-
my adorable two year old little boy!

We are going to have a party at the Railway Museum. Go Thomas.

Oh my goodness....zeusy is nearly down to two weeks!  Yay!

Time really is flying!  Aaah!  Ste (my DF) got offered a new job in London.  So...it looks like I'm probably going to be in London when I move over there.  I'm nearly down to 10 weeks...oh my goodness.  It's gotten so much closer than when I first entered this thread that I'm now counting in actual weeks instead of 10-day increments.   ;D

15 days for me.....EEEK!!!  the nerves just finally set in, my Mom is starting to have a really hard time with me moving, but I am letting her cry and be upset, but it makes me a feel a little stuck, wanting to stay here to make everyone happy, but wanting to be with Roy to make ME happy and everyone else upset.  It's just hard, but I am getting really excited.

I have my final dress fitting on Saturday then my gown goes in a box and it is getting shipped to the great beyond.

Grace- Welcome to the countdown

Mekaw- Great News

Muesings-Welcome as well...

Wow this thread has come a long way, thanks to everyone for all your support.

[smiley=balloon.gif] [smiley=balloon.gif] [smiley=balloon.gif] My Husband is Employed [smiley=balloon.gif] [smiley=balloon.gif] [smiley=balloon.gif]

He got a full time job - he's going to be a customer service rep at a call centre for a bank.  Not his career choice - but who cares?  He's got a job!  I'm so excited.  And it will cover the necessities for our frugal lifestyle.  I am so thrilled.

Today was the first day of my garage sale but, the paper "forgot" to publish any of the garage sale ads this week.  So customers were a little sparse.  Still, I got rid of some of my bigger items.  And I'm doing it again tomorrow.

And I shipped my stuff today.  What an enormous hassle that was.  The UPS people are unfamiliar with shipping personal items to the UK (not really surprised there, and I don't blame them).  But I think we got all the paperwork taken care of in the end.  17 boxes, 497 lbs, and they'll be there by Thursday.  Assuming no Customs hold-ups.  And Gavin doesn't start work until August 29th, so fingers crossed they will sail through Customs and Gav can be home to receive them.

I think the best part is that I'm almost done moving.  I'm out of my apartment on Sunday (change of plans - was supposed to be next weekend).  I'll have all the cleaning finished by Tuesday.  And then it's just me, my suitcases and the pets at my parents' house.  They aren't living there now, so other than an occasional prospective buyer, I'll be all alone.  And Gavin will have everything unpacked when I get there.

I move exactly one month from tomorrow.  Wow.

Kristen - Read about your Customs fees - that sucks, but what can you do?  Government.  I hope your dress fitting goes well tomorrow - you gonna be online at your mother's house?

Candice - 10 weeks is a great mark to break, because that puts you in the single digits.  And close to the realm that most people are comfortable dealing with - 8 weeks, 6 weeks and 4 weeks.

Grace - A party at the Railway Museum sounds like a good time.

Thanks Andrea. and persephone.  I'm pretty excited about it.  He starts on Tuesday.

In other news, my boxes arrived at the flat this morning.  I am amazed at how fast it was, especially since somewhere along the line UPS "lost" my C3 form (but managed to retain their customs forms that they made me fill out).  Almost everything made it there safely, with the exception of a few glass items in my kitchen boxes.  My box of spices even got through (there were about 30 different spices in there and it would have been annoying to have to replace them all).  Gavin is unpack this weekend, and I'll have a home to live in when I get there.  He does need to pick up two dressers before my arrival though - since we don't have any clothes storage in the flat yet.

I can't believe that some of you are almost to the point where you'll be saying "I'm moving to another country this week!"  It seems like we can't possibly have made it that far already.  Good luck to everyone in their last minute prepartions.

yay zeusy!! ;D

and carrie, that was indeed really fast- I'm glad your things made it over (mostly) unscathed!

I leave 2 weeks from today! I can hardly believe it.  So much to do- I still don't have my second suitcase, I need a few more pieces of clothes, I need to look into applying for my HSBC international student account online, etc, etc ad nauseum.  However, hard to cross things off the to-do list when I can barely get out of bed at the moment...  ::)  Ah well, I'm taking the weekend off from moving stuff and hopefully I'll be ready to get back into the swing of things by Monday!

Carrie -- Yay for the job!  That's fantastic.   ;D  That and all your stuff making it over okay must be a huge weight off of your shoulders!

zeusy -- oh my goodness!  It seems like just yesterday you were at 60 something days...now I am!  Yay!  Less than 10 weeks for me now.  Oh man.  I'm getting way too excited already, and it's getting hard to concentrate on stuff I need to get finished before I move.  ::)
