He got a full time job - he's going to be a customer service rep at a call centre for a bank. Not his career choice - but who cares? He's got a job! I'm so excited. And it will cover the necessities for our frugal lifestyle. I am so thrilled.
Today was the first day of my garage sale but, the paper "forgot" to publish any of the garage sale ads this week. So customers were a little sparse. Still, I got rid of some of my bigger items. And I'm doing it again tomorrow.
And I shipped my stuff today. What an enormous hassle that was. The UPS people are unfamiliar with shipping personal items to the UK (not really surprised there, and I don't blame them). But I think we got all the paperwork taken care of in the end. 17 boxes, 497 lbs, and they'll be there by Thursday. Assuming no Customs hold-ups. And Gavin doesn't start work until August 29th, so fingers crossed they will sail through Customs and Gav can be home to receive them.
I think the best part is that I'm almost done moving. I'm out of my apartment on Sunday (change of plans - was supposed to be next weekend). I'll have all the cleaning finished by Tuesday. And then it's just me, my suitcases and the pets at my parents' house. They aren't living there now, so other than an occasional prospective buyer, I'll be all alone. And Gavin will have everything unpacked when I get there.
I move exactly one month from tomorrow. Wow.
Kristen - Read about your Customs fees - that sucks, but what can you do? Government. I hope your dress fitting goes well tomorrow - you gonna be online at your mother's house?
Candice - 10 weeks is a great mark to break, because that puts you in the single digits. And close to the realm that most people are comfortable dealing with - 8 weeks, 6 weeks and 4 weeks.
Grace - A party at the Railway Museum sounds like a good time.
