She said yes!
« on: August 09, 2006, 05:53:55 PM »
I went and spoke to my GP today to see if she would put me forward for a Gastric bypass..although she couldn't approve it for the NHS..."no funding"..she did say she would put everything she could at my disposal to help me do it privately.

So it looks like I can now travel to Belgium in December and have my surgery!!!!!!!!!YEAH!

Positive vibes your way. I'm still fetching info for ya ..most of my mentors are on holiday.
But never fear, gentlemen; castration was really not the point of feminism, and we women are too busy eviscerating one another to take you on.

I need to get the weight off and I am not doing it any other way. I have read tons of stuff..and I think this is my last effort. I am tired of feeling this way!

I know it will drastically change my life in so many ways and I have to change as well.....roll on December!

Thanks for the well wishes!

Wow that's great...congrats! I've looked into it but it's all so iffy. I want to have kids and there's no long term studies on that sort of thing even though there are some people who have had kids but supposedly you are considered high risk. Also, here you have to go to therapy for like 6 months (and the therapist I called said they don't take care of gbp patients) and you have to lose 100lbs before. I thought well if I have to lose 100lbs before then what's the point of doing it?  ::)

Anyway, be safe...be courageous and be happy! it's awesome news and I hope everything goes great for you.

Wow MeShell, I am happy for you that this makes you so happy. But I have to honestly say, after having met you last November, I am stunned you qualify for this?? I am not just being nice either lol but you don't appear to me to have enough to lose to be a candidate!  ???
