American Idol returns!

I think I was the only one that thought Phil did a good job with the Santana song.  I like his voice.

His voice isn't bad; it's just that I can't look at him. It's the eyes. 

Anyone else wonder if we got cheated out of the funny Ford adverts with the contestants, and instead we get Cat Deelys inane interviews? Please make Cat go away.

I agree that he has a good voice, but I also agree with what the judges point out week after week - there's no emotion behind it.  He keeps picking these songs that have a lot of of feeling behind them, but none of it comes out in his performance.

True, I just thought he did really well with this last song, I was totally feeling it.  But then sometimes I think other people suck and the judges say they did great.   

The boys bore me - they are, apart from Blake, and even he is to a degree, so bland. The only thing that distinguishes them for the most part is Blake does the whole beat box thing, Phil is freaky looking, dude, what is with the hat? Please. And that shirt, remember? The one no one could figure out if it was supposed to be like that or if he had wiped his dirty hands on his chest before he sang? Nah, Phil needs help. The other dude, I can't even remember his name, he is cute but forgettable.

I did not like Cat Deeley at the start - she had the snobby, better than this attitude, like, 'let's all make fun of the Americans together' sort of wink-wink thing going on, and it was pointless. Now, however, she seems to have been bitten by the bug and is coming across as geniunely interested in AI, the contestants, the whole thing, and I like her a lot better for it.

AND we may not get the Ford adverts, but we get Humdrum Idol, which has got to be a fair trade.

I agree with you!  I HATE Cat Deely and I loved the little commercials they show in the states.  I am still boycotting until Sanjaya is gone, so I haven't watched in the last few weeks.

I used to loathe those commercials!! Yeeeek!! I don't mind Cat, but I could not put up with the commercials.

Wow, I guess we're really missing some bad TV here in the US!  I'd gladly trade those silly commercials for just about anything.  Thank GOD for my DVR... zip zip fast forward!

I know what you mean we have Sky+ box we always record AI every Friday night. so we always zip zip fast forward through the Cat Deely parts & adverts.  I miss the Ford commercials as well. 

The Ford adverts were campy, but intentionally campy,, Cat is just annoying and unintentionally annoying. 

I'm excited to watch AI this week it's Country week.
