Just got back from hitching on the bus over to Great Western Retail Park
I was there today too!  Today was payday and me and one of my colleagues went over there to Burger King... we'd seen that advert for the burger that has 8 rashers of bacon on it, so we decided to go get one!  It was really good, too.

1. Eye exam at Boots opticians tomorrow
2. Seagulls don't eat grapes, apparently. Ingrates!!  >:(   ;)
3. Paisley beer festival next week, but the set-up starts tomorrow, so I probably won't see much of my OH, as he'll be working and socialising there just about every day.
4. Bought some Dylon to dye a white dress gunmetal grey.  I look like Moby Dick in white!
5. Hairdresser on Sunday, and possibly a visit to Lupe Pintos

Nan, I am so happy for you!

JFKimberly, the stuffed peppers sound so good.  Lol hambooger, that's something I would say!

x0Kiss0fDeath, I hope you are enjoying the sunshine and adult beverages!

KFDancer, good luck shopping for clothes and did you get any goodies?

Jimbo, OMG, that looks yummy!!!

Albatross, oooh, Paisley beer festival - anything good for drinking?

Happy Friday folks!

1.) Decided to take the day off work .Because work can suck it!!!! :D

2.) Enjoyed bits of sunshine (not incredibly warm up here, but nice enough) and yet, also pouring rain.  Managed to get some seeds sowed and cleared a raised bed.  [smiley=daisy.gif]

3.) My 'Christmas Cactus' is blooming again and it's gorgeous. [smiley=smitten.gif]

4.) Playing a gig in Thurso on Sunday. Excellent. [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

5.) Training for a 50 mile charity cycle in the beginning of August , so there will be a bike ride in the morning.    [smiley=hippy.gif]

I’ve always said hamburgalars!  Not hamboogers.   :-\\\\

Yeah for telling work to suck it!

No, I left with nothing.  I’ve been hired to cut costs after all.

I went to the warehouse with a chick I hadn’t met before.  She was sooooooooo posh.  She said she recently was given a Volvo while her Range Rover was being repaired.  And that she loved everything about it except the name.  She couldn’t be caught dead in a Volvo.  What am I missing?  What’s wrong with Volvos?  I thought they were good cars!

I remember all those looong conversations with Sirius about the EU rules and how much time and effort you put into your research. I am SO happy that it has turned out all to be worth it for you and your daughter!  [smiley=daisy.gif]

They are good cars. I have a cousin whose wife wanted one, so they flew from the States to the  Volvo factory, got a tour, got a car, got to drive it around Europe for a week (courtesy the factory) and then had it shipped home. Those things will survive a nuclear blast.

Range Rovers fall apart. It's just a name thing.

Yeah, me, too. And I did a hell of a lot of digging through the rules and regs before I started talking to Sirius, too. But it was all worth it. The stars were all aligned correctly for us, I just had to be able to take advantage of it while they were. It worked.  ;D

Hopefully it will continue to do so. I have a few twingey feelings about Brexit, and am doing what I can to have a backup option in place for the Daughter in case the Immigration people go schizophrenic. Fingers are crossed. She certainly is doing everything "right".

The Daughter thinks the job interview went well - they got to the point of talking about dress codes, and how many hours a week they could offer her (she only wants/can do part time) and how the salary was low (still ok, she just needs to be earning something to pay for her personal needs and to start stashing back for the future). I think it actually would be a really good fit for her, and it's within walking distance of home during normal shop opening hours. We'll see how it goes. They are supposed to let her know next week.

She's done with classes now, so there's just the dissertation to go. I haven't quite sorted out the grading system here, but she says she's going to average around an A3 or A4  across all her courses, she thinks, and that it's good enough that she's happy with it. She has to have at least an A5 or she has no chance of getting funding for a PhD program in the future. (Apparently A1 is the best, and A5 is the lowest?) Fingers are crossed.  8)

They are good, but I reckon she has an impression that they're likely to be driven by stick-up-the-bum, buzzkills who regard safety as more important than style.

probably... but I boycott that one because they have no seats!  I am NOT going to stand around for hours with my pint warming up in my hand.  Nor am I going to sit on a blanket on the hard floor.

Nevermind, GRAF (Glasgow Real Ale Fest) is in June, and there will be lots of good beer (OH is one of the organisers and gets to help choose the beers!) --AND SEATS!

I did squashes and pumpkins and sweetcorn and beans and they're all currently sitting in heated propogators waiting to pop up  :D

I try (and fail) to grow pumpkins and sweetcorn (amongst other things) every year. I know I should just give up, but I'm too stubborn for that lol

Nah, don't give up!  A lot depends on the summer, sunshine, and heat levels. I had success, finally, with an early and hearty sweetcorn last year and it was my first time ever after 5 years of trying!  And it was a rubbish summer, but it was a good type of sweetcorn.
