It's the only thing I can think of, that and they don't taste like anything until you break the skin. They'll eat slightly squished raspberries and now they eat blueberries but they used to just play with them.

Dogs can be so strange sometimes hahaha Faelynn *thinks* she likes bananas when she sees my husband have them. He'll give her a little piece, which she'll proceed to gum slightly then spit out...then she has the cheek to beg him for more...like NO! YOU DON'T LIKE BANANAS! STOP!
My, how time flies....

Exactly, it's a hope that the next bit will be nicer. Haha. But no. It's the same.

Mine'll take carrot, but won't eat it unless it's cooked. But they eat raw potato, raw broccoli and raw cauliflower. It's baffling.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Falling is my biggest fear.

Same here.
You should see me when the pavements are icy...it's pathetic.

Omg. I have to walk to work... downhill. I was so afraid last winter. I just knew I was going to start sliding and not be able to stop. Lol

That is the worst!! Growing up in the snow belt of NY meant learning how to walk on ice and snow, but I've still had some rough falls.

The Daughter is a child of the desert. She came over here to do Ed Abroad for a year for undergrad, and encountered ice. And hills. She said at one point she was standing on the ice at the  bus stop and the wind was blowing so hard it was sliding her down the block! That was when the "ice grippers" were purchased via Amazon and delivered to the dorm. ;D

I forgot to tell you guys... I met 'The American' on Friday!
It was me who finally had to make the effort.   ::)

I had a packet of Big Red chewing gum in my desk, that someone had brought me from the US, but which I'd never opened because it's not sugar-free.
Although I had never heard/seen the guy speak to anyone in the office, I heard him on the phone and he definitely has a NA accent.  So I went over and showed him the packet of Big Red and asked him something stupid like 'how long has it been since you've seen this stuff?' and he laughed and said 'quite a while'.  I offered him a bit, but he said no thanks, so I went back to my desk.

After lunch, he came over to my desk and put out his hand (which was limp and sweaty, but at least he was making an effort --GOD I sincerely hope he is not a UKY reader!!!) and introduced himself and we had a quick 5 min chat.  The gist is that he is from Washington DC, has been here 15 years, lives in Partick (not far from Nan D!).  Came here for uni at St Andrews, met his wife, and settled here.  Like me, he says he has no desire to go back to the US and has made this his home.  So he seems like he might be ok.   :)

Glad it was a happy encounter.  There are two other Americans in my office (quite a few of us when you think there are about 130 people there).  The other two Americans both have dual EU citizenship.  Both really good guys, not loud, easy going.  We aren’t all bad.  ;)

*You* might call it 'shy'... you are undoubtedly more charitable than I am!  ;)

I was told I'm no longer the only American at my store.  I was devastated. I liked being the token American.  Turns out she is Canadian.  Lol. Us North Americans all sound the same.

I wouldn't call it shy, I would call it stereotypically British LOL

1.  Going in to work late today because we were at a wedding reception last night... a full-scale wedding reception on a Thursday night!   ???

2.  I'm moving teams at work.. from mortgage processing to completions.  The move was meant to happen in about 2 weeks time, but as I was leaving last night, the boss said a temp had suddenly quit and so I would be starting in completions tomorrow... and that's today!

3.  OH made me a cup of tea with almond milk instead of cows milk.  No likey.

4.  HOW DID IT GET TO BE AUGUST?!?!

5.  Got an Ikea shelf to assemble, and I might go along to see the new priest instituted at the church tomorrow... and that will be the extent of my weekend.  What about you?  :)
