Thanks @larrabee and thank you for the offer @Rick Stephens

I did try zooplus but they’re saying 14 days for delivery. He has only enough for the weekend. I checked amazon but didn’t see iams so I’ll look again.

I expected some food to be out but not as bad as this. I really thought some cat food would be around. It’s crazy.

What does he normally eat though? Some of them are not great with changes to their regular diet.

Thank you!

Yea if I can help it, I’m trying not to change his diet but if worse comes to worse...

He eats Whiskas dry food which we’ve had him on since transitioning off purina sensitive and he devours it. The wet he is pickier on. He eats Felix in gravy normally. Obviously if I can’t find it, I’ll get the next closest thing or go back to the more expensive sensitive food.  :-X

They have it in Argos, of all places, for a reasonable price. You would need to check availability in your area though.

Friday. Is it Friday? Oh, jeez, what a week....

1) I have finally scored enough paracetamol to last if one of us gets a fever for a week. If we're lucky, we won't have to use it.

2) Tesco says I can have three onions, three things of milk, etc., a week from Sunday. And no slots available in the three weeks after that. I walked a couple of miles to a small shop we frequent and there were plenty of veg, so I got what we needed of onions, carrots, etc., to last for a while. And the butcher is sending some chicken at the end of the month, most of which will go into my little canning jars (glad I kept some of them!) for future use. We're good on food, now.

3) California is supposed to be doing what we are supposed to be doing here, but judging from what I'm hearing from people they have no real idea of what is coming. And then there is Spring Break in Florida. The idiots.  ::)

4) Since the exchange rate hit $1.15 the other day, I spent waaay too much on knitting yarn. But we will not need any until I'm ninety, now.  ;) And hopefully it helped keep the little shop open.

5) It was a lovely, if chilly, day out. That east wind was kinda sharp! Blue skies, puffy white clouds. Lots of sunshine. Nice walk. It felt good to feel some sunshine. There were still so many high-school age kids hanging around over on Great Western Street in tightly-packed groups, outside the takeaways. Has nobody talked to the kids about how this virus-spreads-in-close-contact thing works???? Well, we won't be seeing them for a while on our daily walks, I guess. Thankfully, the sidewalks are wide, and people are now avoiding each other. Which is good. I think I'd go all the way nuts if I could not go outside at all.

Finally got some! Found 1 box at Home Bargains of Webbox Natural wet food and he devoured it. As long as his stomach can tolerate it, I’ll stock up on it to get us through the next few weeks.

I've been MIA for awhile but wanted to check in given everything that's been happening (sorry I'm a few days late).

  • I've been reading everyone's replies for the past few weeks but just haven't been participating. I'm really sorry to see the impact the coronavirus has had on all of you & it seems like there's more than enough bad news to go around.  :\\\'(
  • Feeling very fortunate that I started my new job 2 months ago because I would certainly be without a pay check at this point otherwise. We've all been working from home since last Tuesday and I've returned to Elgin so I can be with my husband while whatever happens next, happens. Also feeling very lucky that I CAN work from home and that my job is really emphasising our wellbeing - I've heard so many horror stories from friends here & in the US who are now out of work. The economic impact of the pandemic is one of my major stressors.
  • Been in touch with my sister back in the US who is a nurse at a major regional hospital in the midwest. She's currently quarantined because she's showing definite symptoms of the coronavirus but hasn't qualified for a test yet (...despite interacting with patients/colleagues who likely have it). It's been terrifying to hear her perspective on this so I'll be VERY relieved when I know she's well & recovered.
  • Went to Aldi this morning expecting it to be a frustrating disaster of a shopping excursion...but everything was in stock? I was very confused but pleasantly surprised as that has NOT been the case anywhere else I've been this week.
  • Following all the government guidelines but I'm dreading the thought of having to stay/work from home long-term. We managed to get out for a really nice (and much-needed) walk on the Moray Coast Trail near Cullen yesterday and it was nice just to get some fresh air.

Hope everyone is doing okay (mentally & physically).

What day is this?!?!?!

1.) Put some beers in the fridge to get chilled for later. Trying to not drink during the week, almost gave up last night, but resisted.  But tonight. Beer.  [smiley=mad.gif]

2.)  Hopefully good gardening weather this weekend. Been rainy and a bit yuck the past few days. Looks quite cold, but dry at least.  [smiley=daisy.gif]

3.) Cranking through laundry  ;D

4.) Guinea pigs are constantly hungry and are worse now that we're home all the time. Squeak, squeak, squeak.  [smiley=devilish.gif]

5.) VIdeo lunch date with a friends today  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

Oh, wow... it is Friday.  I didn't notice!  PB, I hope you get some lovely sunshine, or at least dry weather!

1.  My husband still has to work, but they've drastically reduced the hours that services are available.  Previously he would be subject to varying shifts within the hours of M-F 8am to 7pm + Sat 8am to 2pm.  Now he works M-F 10am to 4pm.  Still on full salary, so that's nice.  Sucks that they don't just close altogether, but reduced hours on full pay is a nice thing.

2.  I gave the second O2 concentrator back to NHS Wales yesterday.  The return went very smoothly.  I had them phone just before they got to my house because we don't have mobile signal here (I use mobile-to-wifi), and I can't answer the door.  The technician let me know when he was a couple of minutes away, and I put the concentrator just outside the gate at the side of the house.  Then my husband arrived home from work, so I had him deal with it.  Yay!

3.  My husband is no longer taking a break from the news.  I think he's decided that it's better to be informed, because you never know when a pandemic might occur.  We were prepared because I was keeping up with the news.

4.  The US is terrifying.  Troops at the borders?  Whatever it is they're doing Syria.  And then there's the whole pandemic thing and the international tensions that's bringing.  I'm not liking the odds for lasting peace.

5.  My husband stopped at shops twice this week and has kept us in pretty good food.  Other than a day when I'd used our last potatoes and wasn't sure what we'd do next but then he came home with a 25kg bag of potatoes, I haven't noticed an interruption in anything.  As far as food is concerned, we've been really fortunate.

1.  Looking forward to not having to keep the kids quiet and entertained while my husband is on full day conference calls this weekend. And also not having loads of school assignments. Our school has been AMAZING with a YouTube channel with an assembly from the Head each day and teachers reading stories.

Plus the app with school work sent, we complete, and the teacher feeds back on.

2.  If the weather stays like this (dry and sunny), this will be okay to stay locked down. But we live in the UK. I’m soooo grateful for a garden and toys for the kids to play with.

3.  My daughter and I start each day with Cosmic Yoga. I’m so out of shape!  I’m enjoying it loads.

4.  We have a new neighbourhood kitty that loves to come get tortured by my kids. He’s really sweet.  Trying to think of a cute non-human name.

5.  I literally JUST NOW discovered a light switch in my garage that I didn’t know was there. Never knew the garage light was a 3 way switch. Every day’s a school day!

1.  Had to go to emergency vets last night... about 5 minutes after Jimmy ate his dinner, he started gasping for breath and both his eyes were swollen shut.  His breathing had calmed down by the time I got him to the car, but his eyes were still swollen.  The vets were great... told me to stay in the car and they would come to get him, take him inside, and then phone me to let me know what was happening.  They said it looked like an allergic reaction to something, but we don't know what.... I normally feed him fresh meat, but keep a couple of tins of dog meat planked away in case I run out of meat.  So I gave him one of the tins last night, but he's had that particular kind before, with no reaction, so I can't imagine the food being the problem, but I can't think what else it could have been.  Anyway, he seems fine now... but until I know what caused it, I will probably worry.  I'm binning that extra tin of meat!

2.  I'm still going into the office every day, having been classed as a 'key worker'. HR have issued us with letters stating our key worker status, in case any of us get lifted by the police for being out of our homes.

3.  I would SO MUCH rather be at home, than at work.

4.  My Shark hoover which is less than a year old, is gubbed.  Can't take it for a repair because the repair place is shut for COVID-19, and cant wait weeks/months to hoover the flat (especially as Jimmy is very messy with crunchy food), so had to order a new one (this one's a Vax), which is being delivered tonight.  Happy new hoover day to me!

5.  Take care, stay safe, and God bless our NHS.
