1.  OH has been away all week with his friends, hitting the craft beer bars and breweries of London & Brighton.  They were going to stop in Manchester on their way back on Sunday, but my OH got a ping from the Track & Trace (or whatever it's called) app, so has decided to cancel the rest of the trip and come back today.  The dogs will be so surprised to see him come through the door!

2.  Dang... 3 months flea/tick/worm prevention for 2 dogs... £82!  Needs must, but OWCH!

3.  Pretty sure I told you guys about my work bestie, Anne, who died in December of a brain tumour.  Saw her son this morning and he told me that his dad has now also died... 6 months almost to the day of his wife dying.  Son says he died of a broken heart... just couldn't cope without Anne.  That is just so, so sad.

4.  Took the hounds to the run-free field last night... it's so nice to see them run and play off-lead.

5.  Becky's doing really well... once her paws healed, I still couldn't get her down the stairs because she was so traumatised... probably associated the stairs with the pain in her paws.  Had to do a bit of tough-love to get it kick-started, but she goes up and down the stairs no bother now, and it seems she is now 99% recovered from her runaway adventure.    I don't know if I will EVER recover!!  You heard it here first, folks, but I'm actually considering giving up alcohol; or at least cutting WAAAAYYYY back.  I'm responsible for these 2 little lives and I can't take good care of them if I'm stoatin aboot drunk by the time of the last walk of the night.

What a week! Actually what a 3 weeks :P

1. I have just worked 17 of the last 19 day shifts (10-hour shifts Mon-Fri, 7-hour shifts on Sat/Sun)... and I am exhausted! I have tomorrow off, then a night shift Sunday, followed by 4 day shifts and a night shift next week... but a new colleague arrives next Thursday so I won’t have as many shifts from now on :).

2. It was the Winter Ball last Saturday... and after 4 weeks of going to the gym almost every day after my day shifts, I managed to get my ballgown zipped up and it wasn’t quite as hard to breathe while wearing it :P . It was a good night, though I had to be up at 6:30am for work the next morning.

3. Next formal dinner is on 7th Aug so I have a few more weeks of gym-going to be able to get into my other dress :P.

4. As of June 28th, I am fully vaccinated, and even though I got my jabs here, they are showing on my GP medical record and I can now get an NHS pass on the NHS app :).

5. It’s a small thing, but we finally got a new washing machine and dryer for the office (they’ve been broken for months), which means I can do my laundry at work again instead of using the shared machines in the accommodation block and trying to fit it in in the evenings/my day off.

PB - book a holiday!

Albatross - be kind to yourself.  I say this as a mom of fur and flesh.  All of our kids (of any type) will have *something* happen to them that is (1) a direct result of you; as in, you turned to fast while holding them and whack their head into a wall.  (2) Have some terrible accident WHILE YOU ARE watching (such as falling down the stairs).  Do you know why you aren't supposed to drink while breastfeeding?  It has NOTHING to do with alcohol in milk.  They don't want you blackout drunk while holding a newborn close to you, where there is a risk of smothering them.

Ksand, I SO get the excited about laundry being convenient!!!  And WELL DONE on the dress fitting.  You'll have to PM a photo!

FRIYAY!!!!!

1.  Weather gorgeous so booked a camping site near Stonehenge.  Going to head over soon ahead of my family to set everything up.  I finish early on a Friday.  But today my daughter finishes school at 3:30, then has final tennis lesson of the term until 4:30 (didn't want her to miss as trophy day), THEN has final swimming of term until 5:30 (again, badge day).  So husband will bring kids later.  We aren't going as one, because "the kids" can't be on the road until 6pm.  They will likely need to be fed and watered.  And you MUST check into the site by 8pm.  So...  I'm just going to leave a wee bit early so I can ensure we are in before 8pm and have everything set up instead of grumpy, tired, (or excited and unhelpful/in the way) kids.

2.  But done with work and don't need to leave for a couple of hours.  Trying to decide if I pop over to the spa for a bit.  It's a hard life, I know.  I need to shower (desperately) but could do that at the spa....

3.  Last night, my life in the UK was complete, COSTCO WAS SELLING CAKE BY THE SLICE.  I SO miss that about Publix and literally go grab a slice of cake like EVERYDAY when I visit the USA.  It's come full circle people!!!!   Full circle!!!!

4.  We *finally* had our family photos on Saturday after having to schedule 4 times because of how pants the weather has been.  Photos are amazing.  I'll put some on FB when I have the non-watermarked ones through.  I am COMPLETELY biased, but my kids are *bleep*ing cute!

5.  Medical updates.  Son will have colonoscopy and endoscopy in September.  MIL has had a consultation appointment come through (supposedly no further info) for a couple of weeks from now, so we will hopefully find out what's going on with her.

Bonus - we had our first kitchen design appointment for the extension this past week.  We are SUPER JAZZED with some of the ideas and being able to see scale in the showroom of what it'll be like.

OH and at diving, I'm LIKING the other moms.  One is an anaesthesiologist and she told me to delete the NHS track and trace app.  ;)  The other mom owns several pubs.  Not bad people to have connections with.  LOL!!!

3.) One of my chickens is broody and she keeps breaking all the eggs. Sigh.  [smiley=shifty.gif]

Awww, poor chicky.   Can you give her a substitute or would that be the wrong thing to do?

Yes, I might have to! I keep telling her she won’t be a Mum, but she won’t listen. Poor girl, I hate telling her such terrible news!

Happy Friday!

1.) Another one of my bands started up this week and it was so nice to make in-person music again!  [smiley=smitten.gif]

2.) Hope to make it to an open garden day this weekend  [smiley=daisy.gif]

3.) Need to restring my acoustic guitar  [smiley=guitarist.gif]

4.) Courgettes are growing like mad right now! Made chocolate chip courgette fudge brownies last night with a bit of the glut.  Baking makes me curse, but this was an easy enough recipe.  [smiley=chef.gif]

5.)  Work. It's still insane. I will keep moaning. [smiley=computer.gif]

Friyay!

1.  Day off and took the kids into London to the Transport Museum.  Great time, lots of walking, wrecked the 4 year old.  But nice that it wasn’t insanely hot and a nice breeze today.

2. Watching the opening ceremony of the Olympics (I am a MASSIVE Olympic fan).  Both ecstatic to see tap dancing and so sad that there is an empty stadium. Feeing all the feels.

3.  Sobe has a UTI.  Keep the paws crossed for my crazy old man. He seems to be much improved since having an antibiotic jab on Tuesday and the vet was very happy with his steady weight and overall good health.

4.  Last weekends camping trip was fun and was great to remind ourselves that Fri evening to Sunday evening can feel like proper time off if you let it!

5. We leave for Devon & Cornwall 3 weeks from today.  I need to start booking “things”.  ;D

Sending all the good thoughts to Sobe.

:o it's not a bank holiday weekend here!  Is it just a local one, like for trades and stuff?

1.  Started training for my new job yesterday.   Seems ok.

2.  got a huge to-do list for tomorrow.

3.  Sunday is the Greyhound Trust walk... last one got cancelled because of hot weather... hope this one will be ok.

4.  Seen a hedgehog the last 3 nights while walking the dogs.  Jimmy goes bat-sh*t crazy!

5.  Becky's been coming on really well this past week... she's getting confident and playful, so I'm hoping this continues and she forgets her trauma.

Strange! It’s most definitely a Scottish one. Do you get English bank holidays or something?

Friyay!

1.  Survived first week of kid #1 off school.  She did a 30 minute Learn to Skate (ice) everyday at 11am.  I have VERY mixed feelings on this class.  That's a whole thread by itself!!  However, my daughter can now ice skate and I'm very proud of her!!

2.  We leave on holiday in 2 weeks and I've booked NOTHING.  Must change that.

3.  Going out on a friend's boat Sunday.  They are good friends.  And they have a boat.  Few things better than a friend with a boat.   ;D

4.  MIL results are finally back from all the tests and they did not find (new) cancer.  However, the cause of the pain she is in is still not solved.  So....   ::)

5.  I've done quite well this week, considering...  Monday was a write off but that was because I had to do all the "admin bits".  Of course I catch myself all the time, including this evening when I got home.  My daughter gave me one of her pandas to cuddle and I have slept with it every night.

Yeah, we get English ones, plus 2nd January.
Surprised H wasn't off though, as he gets Scottish ones in local government. >shrug<
