The Apprentice (UK)
« on: March 21, 2007, 10:46:14 AM »
It starts back up again a week today - Wednesday 28 March - at 9pm on BBC1. Wheeeee! And I just found out that our friend John's niece is one of the 16 contestants! I've never met her and my bf hasn't seen her since she was a teenager, but it's kind of cool anyway! Her name is Naomi.

(edited because that whole "i before e" thing gets me every time.)

Thanks Dh & I love watching that show together. I saw an advert on tv last week that the show was coming back on soon. I just didn't know when & what time it was going to be on though.  ;D  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

They filmed an espisode at the BT Tower where my DH works.  By then they were down to 6 but we can't tell you who they were!    :-X

Can't wait!!!

Naomi (John's niece) phoned him the other day to say she was sitting on the tube, and the man opposite her was reading a newspaper with her picture on the front page. She said it was a very odd feeling! But ... still no hints as to how well she did. The girl can definitely keep a secret! (Rumour has it she did quite well, but I'm not sure what that means or even if it's true.)

Me too!

Yes, when my friend Angie was on it, and I saw her well after but before it aired, she wouldn't say a word about it!

There's no way I could ever be on a show like this ... not just because I have zero business skills. But I seriously could not keep it secret from all my friends!

It's stipulated in the contract they sign from the beginning.
I'd find it difficult as well...

slight sidenote:  I just read that guest stars on 90210 had it stated in their contracts that they were not allowed to look into the eyes of the regular cast members, OR speak to them directly, unless spoken to first.  ::) Sometimes I sooooooooo do not miss Hollyweird.

I have heard that Morrissey gets mad when people make eye contact with him and that his opening act on his last tour was warned not to look him in the eye backstage.   Hearing that was a bit of a downer as I am a huge fan.

Did anyone else watch the apprentice last night?

Can I just say how much I hate Trey?  What an abrasive man!  I hope that he gets kicked off but I have a feeling they'll keep him on for a while to add "drama"

I'm not up on all the contestants' names yet. I thought Andy was a pretty bad team leader, but I thought the woman who led the other team was worse. I can't remember her name. It seems to me that her team won in spite of her, not because of her. They got lucky. But of all 16 contestants, I thought she was clearly the worst last night.

Naomi kept a low profile. Smart move.

Yes Andy was a softie but a lovely guy (considering he is a car salesman).

Jadine...oh my gosh, the singing was a bit OTT! I don't think she will last very long.

Early days!  :)

Uggh, I still have a problem with The Sir using "was" instead of "were" (i.e. - "Was you the one at the stall"). Yikes!! I know he is worth £80MM but come on!   ::)

I did love in the beginning when he said he didn't want any butt kissers! LOL! I soo dislike those types!! Pathetic in the corporate world.
