THANK YOU for posting this.  I thought I was the only one here with that opinion.  I can't even stand the smell of it.  And I hate how purple candies like Starbursts and Skittles are blackcurrant flavored. Yuck!

Why do people really like this stuff?

Some people might ask the same question about purple grape.

Beetroot is evil. >:D  I mean the canned or jarred kind.  Fresh beetroot is ok, especially when it turns the rest of your food purple!!

Beetroot's not evil!
Except the one time i heard a story about someone who did a poo and when they looked at it, it was PURPLE, and they thought it was blood and were all in a panic about it...

Later, they realised they'd eaten an inordinate amount of beetroot the previous night...  :-\\\\

I've always been a fan of salad with beets on it (especially with blue cheese dressing - it turns pink!).  As for blackcurrant, I guess it's just like everything else, not for everyone.  Personally I like it, although I didn't grow up with it and it can be at times too strong.  I like Ribena especially.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

When I was a kid, I loved the jarred borscht stuff you could get at the grocery.  Pickled beets in broth.  Mmm.....

I've honestly never tried beetroot. Not sure I really want to.  :-\\\\
