See, he doesn't bother me that much.  Who I really hated was that guy that went home this week.   The one with the white streak in his hair.  Him, I hated.  He reminded me of the smug drama club/swing choir/jazz band president.  You know the type-not as good looking as his mother thinks he is and so, so, full of himself.

Agree 100% on both counts!!! He doesn't bother me that much either. I think all little girls need a nice, non-threatening pretty boy to have a crush on and I think he fits that bill rather nicely. I don't think he's much of a singer, but neither was Leif Garrett!  :P

I'm SO glad streaky hair boy is gone. He needed a good smack.

I love American Idol.  All the guys are so good.  I like the ozzie guy, LOVED the rock guy tonight who sang the Lionel Richie song and Jason... oh how I LOVE Jason...  He would have been a dream to me when I was 17.  I only wish he didn't speak because what comes out of his mouth never does much for him in the way of sounding like an intelligent person!  But oh he's lovely and he was so good tonight.  But I can't stand the guy with the high voice (Luke, just checked the AI site).  He should go home this week for sure.

Me too! I won't say, though....  ;D

Someone on another board said he thought Paula was drunk during the ladies' show.  :o

Should I be embarrassed that I want to dig out my old best of Journey CD?!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

See I just did NOT get the song choices - particularly for the women. The 80s. Some of the greatest songs ever. And they chose a bunch of CRAP. And why do the women keep singing male vocal songs?? What, Annie Lennox not good enough for ya? Not like there was a huge lack of women vocalists in the 80s! Dread boy was the only one with the guts to reach deep into the truly great songs....

IMHO of course.  :P

I think the vote was fair. It's pretty much who I would have chosen....

I did think Tainted Love was a good choice.  I thought he was crap, but his song choice was good although fairly predictable. :)

I thought Marc Almond was good, but maybe not that song? He's SO camp that he could have done Marc Almond's more flamboyant stuff I think. Not sure.... I actually liked Tainted Love far better the second time he sang it!!!

I always think they sing better when they're on their way out.  :) Sometimes I think they could have saved themselves if they'd sung like they sang after they'd been voted off.  I imagine it's nerves.

I'm not sure any of those girls have any business attempting an Annie Lennox song! But there sure were plenty of other female artists they could have chosen.

Yes, it was a pretty sad choice of songs.

What song did dread boy do? I missed a lot of the boy's stuff.

Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. Simon actually said it's one of his favourite songs and that was one of the best performances of it!!  :o It used to make me cry every time I heard the Jeff Buckley version for it's sheer beauty (I'm a geek, what can I say) but I've created a monster and now dh has played it so many times in the past 24 hours that it's losing some of it's impact!!  :)

Dread boy is now my firm favourite. Not that he'll win....

From what I've heard, the actual list the contestants had to choose from was severely limited.  Apparently these songs were the best of the lot!  Next week is rumored to be Lennon/McCartney songs, so we'll see what happens there.  I'm almost terrified of what Amanda and her scary hair will sing.

I was absolutely THRILLED to see Danny voted off.

I'm with Anne... dread boy is my favorite.  Anyone who could sing "Hallelujah" that well is the winner as far as I'm concerned.  David Cook is a close second.

About damn time you checked in!  ;)  :-*

David Cook never registered for me until the last few weeks and I REALLY like him now! His take on "Hello" astounded me. I HATE Lionel Richie but I really dug his version!
