The UKY flag
« on: February 17, 2008, 11:06:02 AM »
I was trying to download that as I'd like to use as an avatar on another site - any one know where I can grab it?

There was a thread on this ages ago. I'm not sure where to find them. If you use google what exactly do you google?

Why not just save the image from this site?   ???

I kind of think Leah might not appreciate people stealing hers unless she tells us she got it free to use.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

A few years ago some people came up with some really cute ones. I would try to search it but I never have much luck doing that.  :-\\\\

I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

Thanks for the thought balmerhon.

No problem. It seemed rather obvious to me... :)

I think it's common knowledge that people treat images on the internet as a free for all. And maybe because I'm a graphic designer this is a bit of a hot button issue for me. There is little anyone can do to stop it. But since you asked, here's the problem for me. You are a relative newbie to this site, you don't even use an avatar on this one, yet you come on, post in the section Leah moderates, and basically ask how you can take her image and use it for some other place. She created this site and manages it for free. It's just a little bit cheeky if you ask me. I tried to indicate that in my earlier post that at least you should ask her about it, but I was ignored.  :-\\\\

OK. Off my soapbox.

Ok....geez....sorry I asked!  :o

But ok.....I'll use an avatar on here if it bothers you so much!

Oh right....the moving avatar doesn't work here...I'll have to find another!

I used it at my wedding for place cards, turned out really cute, I believe I started the thread of whether it was okay to use it or not.

Anyway, it's a good point that if it's on one site, best not to take and use it on another without explicit permission. Seems common sense to me.

I'm pretty sure it's possible to make images on your website difficult to copy for those not in the know...  I don't think anyone should be judged for using them if they're not protected that way.  This is the internet, it's going to happen.  Although I have also never seen such an unusually tight knit online community...
