word?   ???

Yup! :P
Word - from the hip hop culture.  Means "fo sho"  ;D

Tranlated:  You aren't kidding, I agree, definately, for sure.

Example:  Person 1: "That was the best pizza I've ever eaten!"  Person 2: "Word."

That's what I was using it to mean, but I can see a case for hating it, too.

Another thing that irritates me is 'throwing out the baby with the bath water'. As if anyone would ever do that! I get totally sidetracked onto a logic path when I hear that one.

"Bruv", "Innit", "Blud", only just some of the many thousands of miss-spelt words 'chavs' use against modern society. Help....

"Innit" is used by more than chavs, what ever a chav is.  My mother-in-Law uses it and I'm guessing she isn't a chav :)  That is the first slang I was taught by friends, so many years back, on my first visit.  I was very proud when I got it right, finally!

You don't want to know what chavs are, lol.

I tend to say "innit" too, but I say this like "ennit". Pronouncing it as "eenitt" sounds really chav-like  ;D

I hate the worst 'moist'. Ewww. [smiley=bleck.gif] :P

Oh yuck....in an office i used to work in we had a district manager we called Mr. Moist, because he was always, well, moist.  When you shook his hand it was moist, his brow was moist.
Yes that's an icky one.

I don't like 'killing 2 birds with one stone' or 'there's more than one way to skin a cat'.

I don't like how people call mouth-to-mouth resuscitation 'the kiss of life'.  ICK.

"Anyways" instead of "anyway". I've had so many arguments over this, and nobody ever seems to agree. Any thoughts?

Better than giving the 'kiss of death', IMO. ;)

Ugh, a girl I knew in college never used the term 'boyfriend'.  They were always 'lovers'.  It was double creepy coming from a nineteen year-old.  ICK.

Unless said by a middle aged West Country lady in a pasty/ice cream/fudge shop...

I know it was you, Fredo.  You broke my heart.

I love..."lover"

and

"p*ssing down rain" (also I like how we say in Yorkshire that 'it's siling down'.)

and

"it's all gone tits up"

 ;D
