Carey-- It's SO MUCH easier to have a definite date to count down to. It makes it seem much less eternal. It's also pretty cool that you've picked my birthday to leave  ;)

As for direct flights...it's all I'll do.  Even when the non-direct ones are cheaper.  It just seems SO MUCH EASIER, and as airports freak me out to no end, I cannot deal with the thought that I may miss a flight or lose my luggage or something.  Anyway. Good call on the direct flight thing.

And Jamie and Alan-- It's good to hear everything's going well for you two.  I'm glad some people in here are getting to 'live the dream'. haha

Carey, if all goes as planned for me, then I'll be flying out to England on May 20th at the latest (that's my goal travel date).

WOOT!  :)

Glad you have a date set to go out again, my dear.  I know how much it helps to have that day available.

Brittany, glad you're holding up alright.  :)

Jamie and Alan, SOOOOOOOO glad things are going well....you two give all of us nearing the end of our LDRs hope.  And btw, TOTALLY going to come up to the Manchester area to see you two, even if Ian doesn't come along. :P

Things here are o.k.  Ian and I had a long conversation yesterday, and we sorted things out.  Even though we're going to be speaking less during the week (on my days off), atleast we got all of our issues out on the table and got things taken care of.  And the speaking less during the week is only until I move over there, so really only 2-3 months tops.  And when you're trying to plan a wedding, you really don't have much time anyways.  It felt weird though leaving work and NOT rushing home to get to the computer and get online.  I actually ran errands and took my time instead of running like a mad woman.  Woot.

Hope everyone is doing well and hanging in!  And Beth still has to update us on her dinner last night.  :)

Wow Jamie and Alan, you'll be married before I even get over there! (p.s. how's the wallpaper venture coming?)

OMG, okay I have to vent. So I sent off my paperwork to change my name on my Social Security Card a month ago as directed by the website. I mailed it in to the address I was given with the documents they said were required because, as listed on the website, mailing it in is an option and I didn't want to have to take the time off work to go in to the office. I knew the process takes a while, and I had called the offices many times when I didn't have anything back only for them to either not answer or have no clue. So yesterday I got an evenlope from the Social Security Office and I thought it was my new card. I was SO excited. Then I opened it. It took those #&$@!$ a MONTH just to send everything back and say "sorry, you have to go to a different office than this one and you must go in in person". Seriously?! So now a month later I'm back at square one and it only puts my visa off that much longer. Whatev tho. I'm going to see if I can come in to work late tomorrow so I can go in to the office first thing in the morning. And I will beg and plead for them to do anything they can to rush it. I mean, on one hand it gives me more time to save up money, but still! Now I'm DEFINITELY looking at some time in March if not April before I get out there and I will definitely have to pay extra to expedite my passport renewal before my visa application.

Okay, sorry that was really long. I haven't really written in the last couple days cuz I've been very lazy and not excited about too much. I spent all weekend at home being ill, I'm back at work now but sound like I could be dying of emphysema.

So I spent yesterday researching the most comfortable heels because I want to get at least one pair so I can walk around in heels over there for work or going out without killing my feet after a half hour (except I can't bring myself to spend $250 on one pair and I would have some MAYJAH explaining to do to DH if I did). And now I am TOTALLY jonesing for some expensive shoes and name brand handbags. I so wish I was rich right now. Did you know that the cheapest pair of Christian Louboutins are like $300. And those aren't even the really cute ones! Some day I will have that much money. **dream sequence of me walking down the street in Manhattan with my fancy handbag, cute dress, and red soled Louboutins**sigh**

lol Chi you must watch a lot of sex in the city  ;D

Dceorating....well we have managed to scrape the old paper off the walls and prepared them more or less for the backing paper that needs to be put up to make it even enough to paint.  And what a freaking chore that was!! It took 2 days to do 4 walls of an english living room, steamed scraped steamed peeled scraped for 2 days not cool.  Anyway then we wiped them all clean to get the little bits off.  Then today we went to my new favorite store B and Q!!! I love it there.  Anyway we bought all the emultion and had them mix the spectacular blue paint for the walls.  Came home and painted the ceiling brilliant white, 2 coats.  And now am done for the day.

Next will be sanding all the woodwork and baseboards and getting ready to paint them too.  On top of all that I still have to make tea lol.  Oh the life of a house wife lol!!

Alan is playing pool tonight so I have decided to take the night to myself, sit in a hot bubble bath, drink wine, and watch movies on the laptop in bed hahahhaha.  ;D

Hi Ladies and Alan,
Sorry I haven't written for awhile...things have been hectic and fantastic all at once...Jason and I have been talking almost everyday on Skype...it is more then I could ever hope for...he said that he realizes all the stuff I have given up to be with him and it is time that he contribute..he apologizes daily for what he put me thru and he is sorry for blaming me in the past...we are going to talk about applying for the visitor visa tonight...we have the old app and we are going to go over it and re word it and figure out any questions we have...so I may be asking you all a lot of questions very soon lol..then we are going to apply for it and hopefully if we get approved I will be going over in March...if we get denied he is coming over here to stay with me for a few months and then I think we will do the justice of the peace thing and go for the marriage visa and get that all straightened out before the wedding...I am sooo very happy...it seems like he finally realizes that we are an "us" and not and "I" and a "U"...for the first time in a long time I am not stressed out or depressed and I am actually excited to be planning my wedding. I worked on designing the invites the other night with a girlfriend...Jason is coming around Valentines Day to visit and I couldn't be happier...he said if we get approved for our visa we can do anything I want to celebrate..he said if I told him I wanted to go to Vegas he would take me just because we got our visa lol...so I am still in complete shock...from going to thinking everything was over to this...Thank you all for listening to me and being there for me...

I have pics of my wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses finally...if you want to see them then just PM me your email address and I will send them ...I can't figure out how to do that on here...

Patty how are things with you? good I hope? Are you getting excited?

Jamie and Alan congrats on your date I am soo happy for you

Carey yay you get to see him woohoo

Chi chi-sounds like you need some new expensive shoes after the grief the name changing people gave you...

Beth...so how did it feel to hang out with all the hot guys in the tuxes? hehe

I have seen my fair share of episodes of SITC and I love movies that are set in NYC. I admire all that hard work you're putting in on the house! I get bored with all that manual labor after a day. Although I do love redecorating. Again, just goes back to me being lazy. I was so happy to find out about B&Q from DH. I didn't know of nay diy stores over there.

And p.s. I'm so loving your evening tonight. That's sounds great to me! Too bad my work day is just barely started. :(

Josy - YAY! I'm so happy for you!!!

Chichi - beauracracy is a mess isnt it?  It seems like no one in any public office REALLY knows what is going on and the easiest thing is to pawn it off to the next office. I hope they will expedite your SS card.  I would take the information you sent and show them that you've been trying to get this taken care of for a month - it might help your case. Maybe?  Have you heard of the website where you "rent" designer bags?  A friend of mine did it and LOVES it b/c she could show up to work with a new bag every few weeks for a fraction of the price of buying them.  Of course, you are throwing your money away since you never get to keep one, but if its cheap it might be fun a few times :)  Re: heels, believe it or not, my MOST comfortable pair is from Isaac Mizrahi's Target line. I've worn them dancing, all day at work walking around, even New Years Eve once when we were walking all over.  They are super comfortable and super cute. I dont know if its a fluke or if his shoes are always that way, but maybe check it out.

Josy - I am so thrilled for you.  What a roller coaster!  Thank goodness he came to his senses and even more bonus that he is sucking up to you!  How long will he be able to stay when he comes for Valentines Day?   Since my job is event planning, I do a LOT of invitations and save the date cards and can I just say that one of the things I am MOST excited about if I get married is the invitation!?  So nerdy, but so true! Have fun with that!

Jamie - enjoy your lazy evening - you deserve it!  How was the night last week with the "other wives"?  Were they nice?

The flight I was looking at for England in May has gone up by $300 now.  BOO HOO!! But if I get happy news on my tax returns, I think I can still swing it.  Major finger crossing!

...speaking of New York City... I may be there in a few weeks with David (and his dad)  More info to come... Supposedly I will know by this afternoon. Waiting waiting waiting, seems all I do anymore...  [smiley=juggle.gif]

It's like you're speaking a whole other language! I'm guessing you can't find those kinds of shoes at Payless or Target?? DSW? No?? lol Good luck with the SSN thing, btw. What a major pain!

Josy- skype is awesome! Yay!!!! Sounds like you've got lots of future plans, now. That is a great sign! :)

Jamie and Alan- I don't envy you, though I do like to do a little home decorating/refinishing. I like painting! Just not all the prep that goes into it... I'd love to repaint some rooms in my apt here, but they make you paint them back (even though THEY repaint every time someone moves out!) Vanilla is seriously getting on my nerves!

Nothing really exciting going on here. I found a ticket to Dublin for the summer for $800 (Aer Lingus, too!) I am tranferring the moolah from my savings today so I can buy it before the end of the week! It's official! :) And a friend in London has already started making some plans for my visit this summer. At least I will have plenty of stuff to keep me occupied. It's also kind of fun to think about all of you being there, too! We will definitely have to do some sort of Cheesy jumpers club meet up! lol Will anyone be in London/London area June and July? I don't know exactly where you all are in relation to London....

Anywho, back to finishing my lunch grub. Glad everyone seems to be in better spirits these days! I knew that 2009 was going to be a great year! :)
