Thanks, Andee! :)
:)

I just wanted to say I wish a thread like this had been going when I was separated from my (then) boyfriend / fiancee!  It would have helped me to calm down a bit and would have been so much fun sharing all those still brand new and fresh cutesy romantic moments with others!

I was looking for a wedding dress that was really different and unique, and I wanted one with sleeves, but not the cheesy poofy Victorian looking ones with the finger cuffs on them or whatever.  All the dresses I saw in the shops looked the same.  I ended up finding the most beautiful dress, brand new, never been worn, and handmade in India on craigs list.  I had to drive a good ways to try it on, but it fit perfectly and cost half as much as I was planning to spend.
Just thought I would mention that, I know many of those listed on sites like ebay and craigs list have already been altered and/or worn, but you might have some luck finding something perfect like I did!

Hi Andee! Chime in anytime lol...I'm moving in like 3 weeks and fully intend on keeping up with this thread:)

MMMM wedding dresses mine is red and white I'll try and get the pic here:) I like the green theme though Josy sounds beautiful.  I always wanted a red and white wedding since I was a little girl lol silly I know.  I think I'm lucky because we are getting married twice.  The first wedding won't be as grande in scale but lovely.  So I have decided to be snooty and will buy 2 seperate dresses  :)

Everyone on here seems to have fantastic wedding ideas:) must remember to refer back when time comes

you deserve to have 2 dresses  ;D
I love the red and white theme...and I am happy I have friends to discuss wedding stuff with...we are going to try to incorporate our British and American Heritage into the reception too...it makes it fun...and then I got it so that my dress will be cleaned and shipped to me after it is steamed after the wedding in August...and then the following year when we do our little wedding in England I can wear it again...I think I need to rescan my photos of my dress I can't find them...but when I do I will send them to you guys..

Jewlz your dress sounds awesome

Hi!  The word of today is "knickers".  That's British for undies and you can say it loud when you're upset about something instead of a curse word!

WOD; well, a phrase... "Oh! What's occurrin'?" LOL It keeps going through my mind now that Scott Mills is using it as a segment. It's from Gavin and Stacey, too!

Of course, I keep being the one to suggest the words, so anyone else, feel free to nix that one!

I love the talk of the dresses. Y'all definitely should start a "what's your dress look like" thread! LOL I have a fairly specific idea of what I want my potential dress to look like [not that I'm anywhere near needing one...]

Hello Andee.. welcome! Thanks for the word of caution - you're exactly right.
Now that you have posted on "our" thread you need to tell us your meeting/falling in love/moving story!  Its required! :)

I love to use the word knickers, although it always makes me think my panties are huge when I call them knickers...

Damn that Gavin and Stacey - I feel so left out without BBCA!!

Jamie and Josy, can I come to your weddings!?!?

Jamie - when is your last day then?  Are they doing this out of spite?

You my dear Carey are totally coming to the wedding:) If you are in the country Josy better be there too lol But I have a feeling you will both be in England YAY!

I don't know why they are doing it because they suck and are cheap:) Actually they wanted my last day to be tomorrow and my fantastic boss had to fight to get me the week.  Whatever now I have a week to do whatever and get my head right:) Will be my last week in the states so it will be good to not work.  Then we can have that lunch date that seemed impossible before:) Blue Bonnet mmmmmm

I think it's on DVD...and er, I know where you can...uh..."aquire" it.  Are you on LJ?

I burst into giggles the first time I was in a shop and saw the sign that said "knickers".  :D

My romantic/sweet moment of the day -

A few weeks ago Tim took me shopping to get some weather appropriate clothing, and I was trying on coats in Primark and fell in love with a purple plaid coat.  The problem was, the largest the store had wasn't buttoning over my chest.  Today we were in town and Tim suggested popping into Primark to see if they had gotten a new shipment of coats. They HAD! And they had the purple plaid coat in a size that buttoned over my chest....and it was on sale for £15.  The cutest part was Tim getting out his wallet to buy it for me!
