Is this snow distracting from Shrove Tuesday and Valentines day?
Isn't ST in February?

I was looking at some old posts in previous years and in 2007 it was earlier in Feb, I think.
Think icing sugar and fresh squeezed lemon juice :P :P

It depends when Easter is, so the date of Shrove Tuesday changes each year (since it is 47 days before Easter Sunday)... it can be anywhere between 3rd February and 9th March (it was 5th Feb last year and will be 16th Feb next year, but won't be until 8th March in 2011).

Halleluja I'm in the office! The rain still hasn't melted everything and our sidewalk and part of our road is still quite icy, but finally we've had a couple of normal weather days. Mind you it's meant to snow again later today.  ::)

The road's are in good shape, but the temp is rapidly dropping so there is bound to be ice around tomorrow.

We had really bizarre rain yesterday that froze as soon as hit the window pane.  Today we keep getting little flurry's of snow but nothing compared to last week.  I think its all over and finished with here now.

Roll on the summer!  8)

Don't count your chickens just yet, last year we had snow flurries in March!

We've got sunshine that's supposed to last through the weekend now. 8)

Drove from Newcastle to Birmingham and back. Lots of snow in the Derbyshire/Yorkshire area---field after field covered in it! Not much to speak of in Birmingham, and no snow at all here in Newcatle now. I wanted to make a snow angel but that would have meant pulling off the side of the road and tresspassing in someone's field.

I retract my earlier 'no snow in Newcastle' statement. I think this is the heaviest snowfall I've seen since I've lived here!

Tim and I stayed in Newcastle this weekend!  Glad the snow waited until we left on Tuesday :p

We've finally got the January thaw -- in February.  It got up to 61 deg. F yesterday lunchtime with gorgeous sunshine!  :D By the time I left work it was very cloudy but still fairly warm.  Rained a lot overnight which got rid of some of the snow and ice.  It's about 47 now (at 8:00 AM) but supposed to drop back into the 30's at the weekend. I'm not trying to make you all sick with envy -- just to point out that our weather usually ends up going your way.  Anyway, there will be more snow and ice; winter ain't over yet by a long shot.
