A friend of mine has cancer. If she is still in hosptial (was admitted on Friday), I hope to visit her tomorrow. Feeling kind of teary.
So sorry. I know it's hard but do try to support her as much as you can. Once the crying's subsided she'll want to feel some things are still normal.

So sorry to hear this.

I'm really sorry to hear about your friend. If it makes her feel any better, you can tell her I said chemo wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be. In fact, one piece of advice I was given by a guy who had his transplant before me was "Nothing is ever as bad as you imagine it will be". And he was totally right. Big hugs to her.
Hearing this would make me feel a bit better if god forbid I had to go through it.

Thanks so much, everyone. It's the not knowing that is awful from my POV. But I am really happy because surgery went OK and she should be moved to a ward either yesterday / today.

Hopefully, she'll be up for visitors soon.

I'm glad to hear she's doing okay.  Hugs.

Just found out that a woman I worked in at my old travel agency that I was good friends with then has died  :\\\'(. She had 2 forms of breast cancer..she had a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy..but the cancer came back..and she died last Friday.

She has left a 6yr old little girl...I am beyond shocked. She came to see me after my surgery in August and she was doing really good.

That's so very sad, MeShell. I hope that little girl has a lot of loving people around her.  :\\\'(

I think so..the father is there and her family have came from the IOW. There were here last week when she died. What is so sad as well is both Lyn and her sister tested positive for the cancer gene that is hereditary..so her sister is now going thru the same surgeries to cut down on the chance of her getting cancer. They told her she had a 85% of getting it. Lyn was worried about how this is going to affect the little girl when she gets older. She was upset at the thought of her passing this killer onto her child... :\\\'(

It's a wicked disease. And how awful to have 85% hanging over your head. That poor woman. And the little girl.

One of my beloved uni professors is in Mass General Hospital with seizures and a mass in his brain.  We're all thinking of him, as he was one of our favourites.

Awww, I know you are super frustrated. And it is pretty huge for you, considering your circumstances. Just keep calling around and hopefully you will find someone. Hopefully something will work out soon.

Sorry about your professor, PB. That's awful.  :(
