Other things are also important, like to understand your own dietary intake. Measurements are also a good way to indicate a degree of fitness and health. If you do weigh yourself, I'd recommend doing it at the same consistent time, for accuracy, so say, weekly at the same time of day.

Weight is only one of many indicators of wellbeing and taken in isolation is not very useful for anything other than obsessing. I can understand if you are doing daily weigh in to understand your own personal weight range, so to speak, though.

I agree with the taking of your measurements then after awhile take your measurements again to see if you have lost any inches. Cause for the longest time I was sooo focused on the weight loss but after a long while something clicked an I realized what I should be focusing on is how my clothes feel not what the scale says.   ;)  :)

That all sounds really healthy! You can do it!  :)

If you feel the need for junk food, portion control helps for me. So buy smaller bags of crisps or cut smaller portions of pie or whatever. I wouldn't cut myself off. Then that might make being healthy feel like a punishment. Just my experience.  :)

I do the same thing portion control is now my best friend.   ;D  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

So since my diet and exercise attempt for the past 2 weeks has been a total fail (although I discovered that I lost 10lbs somehow  ???) I decided to order some workout videos.  I order the Biggest Loser video which has 6 different workouts on it (hopefully that will keep me from getting too bored with doing the same thing over and over) and I also ordered some kind of dance workout thingy (figured that might be entertaining).  I'm gonna try that instead of the gym...although I'm seriously lacking motivation (which is probably why the past 2 weeks have been such a failure) so I hope they don't end up being a waste of money, sitting on shelf collecting dust.

Well, I've not been eating very healthily lately (well, I've eaten lots of veg, but not been too careful about portions or snacks) but I have been getting more exercise since we lost our jobs. We've been going for a walk or bike ride every day just to get out of the house. I'm kind of hoping I do get a job waiting tables for a while, at least I would be active at work instead of just sitting at a desk all day.

After what I believe was a bout of sciatica which had me sitting on a water bottle for a week, I was finally able to get back to the gym today. I took it easy and it felt great!  :)

Dissertation is handed in, now back to the grind of working out and toning up.  Did my first one yesterday and can feel it today.  I did seem to lose 4 or so more pounds over the last month but unfortunately that would be due to not eating stress.

Sick of being sick and living in my pyjamas. I'd love to have energy to just go to the park.  :-\\\\

I can't believe how much I want and wish I could go to the gym..... :o

It's gonna hurt when I am better.

Hmmm I am pretty sure I weigh the same as a month ago, as 2 months ago... I'm tracking all my food and getting more exercise than ever. I'm still the weight of a large cow. Well at least I haven't gained  :-\\\\ :-\\\\

Right there with you, sister!  :(  (only not tracking my food, or getting as much exercise, probably)

My diet is gone to sh!t.  I swear my DH must like fat women because everytime I mention being on a diet, he goes to the shop and comes back with "surprises" for me...usually candy bars, swiss rolls, soda, etc.  My mom is in from the States next week so I know we'll be eating out a lot and ordering take away so it will be even worse.  Haven't gained any weight though...so I guess I can't complain too much.

My Biggest Losesr exercise videos should be here soon so it looks like the weekend after this (when my mom leaves) I will be trying to kickstart some weight loss...again.
