IA:  I tried to pay my cellphone bill online last week, and my Visa ATM card was rejected.
UP:  I had my new card in my wallet, activation took less than 2 minutes, and I was able to pay the bill.

Background:  I was one of those people who shopped at Target during the period they had a huge security breach.  My bank opted to give new ATM cards to everyone who shopped there during that period, issuing them with the same PIN number of the original cards.

I'd done a Houston-Dallas round trip the day before I tried to pay the bill, and had to buy gas in Dallas.  I think that purchase triggered security, because I made purchases in my home area before and after the gas fill-up (all in the same day).  They must have thought a thief in Dallas got hold of my card info.

IA. My oldest sister has been in & out if the hospital ALOT the past few months more in than out actually. my IA is the hospital she was in wasn't the greatest to her cause she is a Medicaid patient the head Dr was a real butt to her most of the time grrr.  >:(

UP. My oldest sister was transferred to a better larger hospital on Thur evening its farther away from the family but if she gets better care that's worth it to us. The Dr's at the bigger hospital were shocked at the treatment that my sister got from the smaller hospital cause she was a Medicaid patient. My 2nd oldest sister she has been with our oldest sister through her stay at the smaller hospital she is a Registered nurse so she told the bigger hospital about her treatment. From what my 4th sister has told me last night our oldest sister is in much better care at the bigger hospital Yeah!! ;D

IA. The weather back home is getting a real beating from snow this past month & half. I fly home the end of this month hopefully my plane can land without any delays due to the weather. ;)

UP. I get to go home an see my family in a few weeks an I get to talk to my oldest sister in person instead of getting info relayed back to me from my Mom or others sisters Yeah!!  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Hooray for better care! It sickens me the way people are treated because of Medicaid or no insurance. If you become a doctor or nurse to help people, it should be all people regardless of ability to pay, or how it is paid. I noticed when I went back in late spring/early summer last year how they changed their attitude toward me the moment I said 'no insurance'. That was just for being in the building less than an hour and $198 for the visit and treatment at urgent care. $198 is easily taken care of with cash or a debit card, yet they went from all smiles and sweetness to this look of horror that I was going to be 'yet another of THOSE people'.  I can only imagine what it has been like for her. My heart goes out to her.

Hooray that you will get to spend time with her! Fingers crossed Indiana will be a bit closer to spring by then. We Just went to Terre Haute, which is an hour north of us, and there was a lot more snow than we have. We have about 2-3 inches, but theirs was closer to 6-7. I'm not sure what it is farther north.

IA:
I moved into my new (rented) house in Lincoln this week and had called Sky to set up my phone and broadband (turns out Virgin Media broadband isn't available in my area :(). They told me a connection date of the 15th, so I figured I would just use the 3G data on my phone (and pop back to my parents' house for a few days) until then. But I found out that actually only the phone will be connected on the 15th and I have to wait until the 23rd for the broadband. Not happy - especially as I only have 33MB of data left on my phone contract for this month (which ends on the 19th) and it won't last :(.

UP:
I called Orange to ask if I could purchase some extra data to top up my phone until the 19th and they offered me 500MB of free data until then and then said they could reduce my service plan cost by £5 a month starting on 19th! Almost sounds too good to be true, so I'm waiting until I get the confirmation and bill to make sure :P.

UP: Judas Priest are playing  October 4th at a two day festival in Louisville, KY, just three hours away!

IA: Our trip to the UK has (had) us flying home the 5th of October.

UP: We realize we can just adjust out trip, thinking there will be a small fee for exchanging for flights on different days.

IA: They want $780 to change our flights by two days. This is one of those holy grail concerts for us, so we decide to bite the bullet and go for it.

UP: Our original flight changed by 4 1/2 hours, making us take off for Atlanta before we were even intending the make the hour long trip to the Evansville airport. Because of this we were able to cancel those flights for no charge! JOY!

The money will be back in our account within 10 business days, and we will be able to fly Evansville to Chicago to Manchester, then the reverse into Louisville the day before the show. More joy! Plus, flying in and out of Chicago means we can get hot dogs! Love me a good Chicago hot dog.

We're still feeling the glow of not having to pay that $780, all because Delta moved the time of our flight. Love it when things work out for the better.  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Me too!  ;D We have been talking about how insane we were even considering paying that amount just to adjust our trip by two days... but heck!... it's Judas Priest! Then to find out because out flight was changed by more than 90 minutes it would be no charge.

That is one of those little known things airlines try to keep people from knowing.

UP:  for our upcoming anniversary (4-0!!) DH has booked us a trip to Dublin, flying from LHR with Aer Lingus and staying at a very nice hotel.

IA:  Aer Lingus charges extra for checked baggage so that means carry-on bags only.  As it's a special occasion I was sorta thinking it would be the thing to take a nice dress with all the trimmings but that's out now.  Especially as DH thinks no one needs to travel with more than a toothbrush and change of underwear  ::) and his carry-on will be mostly full of his meds anyway.

But they do let you take 1 carry on bag and 1 personal item...Get a big handbag for you and a man bag for your hubby!

Happy Anniversary!

My usual LL Bean (hand)bag that I use trans-Atlantic is just a leetle too big for their measurements.  Of course.

Sounds like a very romantic getaway.  [smiley=smitten.gif] Your hubby sounds like mine, except mine is very extravagant with his packing, so he would add two heavy metal t-shirts to his toothbrush and change of underwear.  ;D We're going for two weeks and he will probably pack 3 pairs of pants and 5 shirts. His theory is that his mum has a washer, so why pack more?

The bonus of his theory is, after we have bought and bought while over there, his nearly empty case will hold most of what we are bringing back.  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

My LL Bean backpack fits perfectly underneath the seat in front, even on Aer Lingus flights (flew Southend to Dublin last June) so if it's relatively the same size, your bag may just be alright.

I dunno.  I'd sure hate to have to try to cram it all into the carry-on.   :P
