Austin?  Wow!  That's not very common there, is it?

They're calling for snow here in Glasgow over the next couple of days.  Hopefully it's not too much. :-\\\\

It's supposed to be here in Houston soon.  I hope it's the nice puffy flakes and not sleet.

They just issued another winter storm watch for my area. I live in Maryland - the place that has been nailed with 3 major winter storms of 18+ inches since just before Christmas. 2 were in the same week in February! We had almost 4 foot drifts in the last storm. I love snow, but I'm getting a little tired of it now!

Snowing hard up here today! Supposed to go on for the next few days. Lovely.  My little civic rocks in the snow though- coming to work was no problem.

I'm thinking my next car will be a Civic because the lease is up on my Accord in August. My prior lease was a Civic BTW. So I was wondering if the Subaru is about the same price in the UK as is the Civic. The Subaru would be very good in the snow.

Weird weather today!  It snowed overnight, so we had snow here in our town first thing this morning - but no snow on the streets in Leeds city centre, although it was cold & foggy.  By the time I got off work, it was sunny & a fair bit milder in temp.

I love how even with the snow the last couple days or so - the birds are singing in the morning, even so!  Spring has to be on its way, doesn't it?!

Almost! I saw daffodils popping up the other day and that was definitely exciting!

It's been coming down and blowing around all day today, but it's more like rain disguised as snow.  It's all fluffy and white while it's falling, but it wasn't sticking and just soaked through all of my clothes  >:(.  Although, now that it's dark it is sort of beginning to stick.

We're battening down the hatches here again. They're calling for a 'snowicane'!! We probably won't get tons of snow here... but we expect the wind to be pretty crazy. Bizarrely it's feeling very mild now and I almost feel like I should be looking for crocus leaves poking through the soil - not looking up at the sky for more snow!

I was just on the phone to my mom, and she was saying how it's 43 degrees and she just can't believe there is supposed to be another storm when it's that warm.

Also, what's the deal with the little names in the media this year?  I go on CNN.com the last time round and it's all "SNOWMAGGEDON!!"  Now they're throwing around "Snowicane"?  They've got a lively bunch in the meterology departments this year.  ;) :P

I think it's more to do with the whole 'unprecedented-ness' of it than anything. The amount of snow, having 2 storms in one week, the amount of time the snow stayed around, the massive clean up... it's all deserving of special names. Snowpocalypse is the other popular one. This particular storm is being called snowicane because of the potential for tropical storm-force winds. Yikes!
