I miss the sun! :(
« on: May 25, 2010, 10:53:51 AM »
Yep, that's it. I finally, after two years, am starting to get a little depressed by the lack of sunshine. I always hated the hot summers in Texas, but gosh, last weekend was so perfect, I just wanted it to go on and on, and now I'm afraid that was it for the whole summer up here. We can't afford to go on holiday, which was immensely helpful last year, as just soaking up the sun for a week in Greece was enough to last until now, but I'm feeling really sad today about the chilly weather at this time of year. Blah.  :\\\'( Come back sunshine! Pleeeease?  :-\\\\

I can relate to this one! As a SoCal girl now in Somerset, I almost always miss the sun! This last weekend was so glorious; it wasn't even humid. It felt like how summer should be. I'm hoping that we will have many more days like it this summer. After all, the summer of 2006 (in the UK) had many glorious, sunny days.

Well see, if you had lived up this way,  you wouldn't have seen the sun and you wouldn't have even known what you missed  :P

Seriously though, I'm sorry. It can be really tough trying to get through the constant grey.   :(

I know!  Today I'm in long sleeves and a jacket and it was spitting rain earlier.  I miss the sun and when this is the 'summer' it makes the possibility of dh being sent to Florida look very attractive.  But then, when I came back, I'd have to start the no sun adjustment all over again.  This suck!  Virtual commiseration beers all around?

I'm invited to a barbecue this weekend.  Plan on standing around with temperatures in the 50s(F) and being cold while everyone around me talks about how lovely it is outside.  >:(

Yeah, went to a BBQ on July 4th two summers ago (it wasn't *for* the 4th, just happened to be *on* the 4th) and I had to freakin' borrow a coat from the couple who were throwing the party.  ::)

I'm sure we'll get loads more nice days though people--don't despair!  Summer doesn't officially start until June 21st anyway (the solstice), so technically it is still spring and spring can be quite variable, right?

Well, it's going to hit 90+ today here in Beantown. And humid with it. I'd be happy to send you all some of it  ;)

You're too far north, Jewlz ;). The sun is still blazing away down here.

Blazing sun down here in Cornwall too! In fact, it's the sun is too strong to sit outside for very long!
