Meh.  Guess it was only a matter of time since the UK is full of every other type of American junk food / fast food place.

I'm with you, Andee.  :(

And, in my opinion, Taco Bell is one of the worst of the junk food/fast food places. Shudder.

They improved teh menu in the US.  You can get all the stuff with the fresh salsa as opposed to the cheese and whatnot.

Like most places it is what you make of it.

Lies! Not the first at all!

There was a Taco Bell in Uxbridge in the mid 1990s just before I became a student at Brunel, it closed and became a Wendy's later on (which also then closed) and is currently a KFC. Interesting to see if they make it this time.

David.

I think you've mistaken this place for the tamale stand in Chimayo, just across from the church.  ;)

here is a bit more official source, though a picture is pretty darn good indication

I would guess tacobell would do well up north, cheap and fast.  At least here in Preston I think they would do a killing!

He said when I go to the states I dont crave fish and chips or British food...

Ha ha - actually when we're in the US, by the end of a holiday there, we are both craving homemade curry & Sunday roasts usually!  :)

You don't get shreddies in the US? They're readily available in Canada.

Can't say I am bothered by this, but I am not a fast food fan at all and tend to only use them for their toilets, if desperate!  :)

I think this may be of interest to either those that live closer to where the place is opening and maybe those who haven't been in the UK that long?  :-\\\\

I think I was mostly excited by the end of that article where it said that Mexican restaurants were on the rise in the UK. Let's hope a good one comes to Newcastle, at least, if not Amble.  :P

A good independent Mexican restaurant, sure! We have one in St. Ives, but I've never actually been there. One of these days ...

But for me, one of the biggest reasons I moved to the UK is that it isn't the US. It doesn't have Taco Bell, you can't buy Cheez Whiz and people don't keep telling you to have a nice effing day. If I wanted all of that, I'd have stayed put.  >:(
