You'll all be fine! You'll all get approved, I worried and worried and kept running it all through my mind thinking "omg... what if this or that is not enough?! They'll reject us!" 48 hours later I have my approval and I'm sat thinking "Cheese on a biscut, what was I worried about again?" lol.

I read somewhere on here that if the UK partner is on benigits its ok, just you can't. You have to have 108.00 pounds left at the end of each week each month after paying rent/morgage and councile tax. If your sqweeking by and just touching that, including a budget will certainly help! I'm sure someone here will come along and confirm what I've stated, or give better advice, but I hope that helps. :)

I GOT MY VISA!!!! :) :)

Application Completed: May 22nd
Biometrics:May 25th
Mailed out :May 25th
Received Confirmation email: June 1st
Visa Issued: June 16th

13 business days from when I received the confirmation email. NO priority. Email simply states "Visa issued, your passport with arrive tomorrow with this tracking # " thats all haha!

Hope this information helps, this thread is getting really long with everyone posting topics that should be included in another thread. The original thread is supposed to be PROCESSING TIMES.

Good luck to everyone!!!

Scotland09 I know that it's frustrating for you to wait, however the priority for settlement will take up to 15 working days for straight forward case, 48 hrs is for non settlement. I do think however your denied entry has been resolved already since u did have a visa after, it wouldn't take long now. I suggest you wait till next week
Sept 2, online application
Sept 9, biometrics appointment, purchased priority & sent package to UK Consulate NYC
Sept 12, package delivered 9 am, email of receipt @2:56pm NY Time
Sept 15, passport arrived in the post with visa.

Hi Scotland, it must be awfulhaving to wait so long.

The standard priority time for a fiance visa is 15 days I think.  With yours being exceptional it will probably take longer

Good luck!.

Congrats AZtoUK! Where in AZ are you?! I'm in AZ too!

Scotland, I know its so hard to wait, but that's all we can really do. I'm sure it couldn't hurt to email them though if it makes you feel better. :)

Hi everyone, first off congrats to those of you who have just gotten great news!  It's amazing and really helps make the rest of us continue to be hopeful!  I posted this question in its own thread and UkKitty was very helpful.  I was wondering what the rest of you think...

  • 10th of July 2008 - Started dating (in the UK)
  • 1st February 2010 - Started living together (in the UK)
  • 14 February 2011 - Engaged (in the UK)!
  • 31st May 2011 - I returned to the US
  • 6th of June 2011 - Married (in the US)  :)
  • 8th of June 2011 - Biometrics enrolled
  • 9th of June 2011 - Priority service application mailed by UPS
  • 10th of June 2011 - Tracking service says it was signed at 10.25am by "Blythe in the mail room"

We still have not had a confirmation e-mail from them to let us know that they have the application/package.  We used the priority service and made sure to put that on the outside of the box (several times) as well as the payment reference code.  We also made sure the priority service receipt was right on top of everything.

Is it common to not receive a receipt e-mail for this long, especially since I have the priority service?

I should note that my last visa application was denied because they changed the rules whilst my application was pending (details of all that in my original thread here: http://talk.uk-yankee.com/index.php?topic=69920.0 [nofollow] ).  I suppose that could be causing a delay but why wouldn't I get an e-mail saying that they have the parcel?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can provide.  I'm going a little crazy checking my e-mail non-stop!  :-\\\\

So, my father just called from the family restaurant next door and he said that I had a package delivered.  I ran over in a panic, thinking it had been returned rejected for some reason.  Inside were SOME of my documents (binders removed) and a lot was missing.  I don't even care though because my passport was there and... we've been approved!

I CANNOT BELIEVE that they sent it back to the wrong address and that we never got a single e-mail, not even a confirmation of receipt, but I am SO thankful and I will be flying back to my lovely husband on the 24th!  So, the run down in the end was:

  • 6th of June 2011 - Married  :)
  • 8th of June 2011 - Biometrics enrolled
  • 9th of June 2011 - Priority service application mailed by UPS
  • 10th of June 2011 - Tracking service says it was signed at 10.25am by "Blythe in the mail room"
  • 17th of June 2011 - My documents were sent back with my passport inside!
  • 24th of June 2011 - I get to fly back HOME to London and my husband!

So, is that it?  Can I just take my flight, waltz back through immigration, and get back to working as well (my company has held my job open for me)?  I hope so!

I am so excited and I hope all of you who are waiting get great news soon too.  It's really unpredictable but I guess it's all worth it in the end!  Thanks for your advice!

xxxx

I told you it would be fine! Congrats love. You can travel according to the date on your visa, it should have an effective date on it, I think, I don't have mine in hand atm, but UPS will be here soon. I put my date of travel as July 1st so more than likely that's my effective date, I can travel anytime after that date.

Awesome! I didn't get the second email they are supposedly supposed to send out, just the approved email, and as A Bit Worried said, she got her passport with no emails! Good luck to you love!
