i didn't receive a second email.  it was just the processing notification and the one stating my visas had been approved.

Same here. I guess, since they're processing them so quickly, it makes sense for them to not stop and dash off a mid-processing email to everyone. Of it was me, I'd think the applicant would rather I took that time to hasten the review and approval process. The first email is important because it actually tells you your important documents are there, and someone will be looking at them shortly.

After that, any email aside from the approval/denial one is pretty superfluous (unless they email asking for further information, like they did in my case).

Yes we did get it quickly. Priority Service was worth its weight in gold.

When my (future) husband was coming here to the US on a fiance visa, it took almost two YEARS for his paperwork to get processed. Granted, that was immediately after 9/11, and also I believe the influx of applicants into the US far outweighs the ones for the UK, but still...

Going over to the UK seems like a cakewalk, in comparison :)

Yes, we have that to go through yet.. my husband was here for 9 months and we ran into glitch with US immigration and he had to return.. I couldnt go with him because my daughter was in college still living at home.. she graduated in May and now Im trying to get over there to him while we fight to get him back here..  we have been separated for 8 months now and I just want to get there already.. dont mind the 2 year fight to get him back here as long as we are together and living our lives in the mean time

MY VISA HAS BEEN ISSUED! WAHOO! I got my email this morning saying it has been issued and will be returned to me tomorrow :) What a relief! I was almost convinced something had gone wrong since my case was very straight-forward. Here is my COMPLETE! and updated timeline for everyone :)

Married in London after COA's abolished: May 28th
Flew home to Seattle: June 1st
Applied for Settlement Visa online: June 1st
Biometrics Taken in Seattle: June 6th
Documents Overnighted w/ PRIORITY Service: June 6th
USPS tracking states package delivered: June 7th 11AM
Email stating Documents Received/Opened in New York: June 8th @ 1:27PM PST
Email stating Visa has been issued: June 22nd @7:37AM PST

So a total wait of 10 (long) business days w/ priority service. Proof that not everyone gets theirs back within 48 hours, but after then there is still hope :) Stay strong and patient everyone! <3

Hello all, Just a quick question regarding this "Blythe in the mail room"...

My package was received today and signed for by "J. Blyth."  I haven't gotten any emails from the consulate directly, just the confirmation email from USPS.  Do you think this is the same infamous Blythe who doesn't email, or does someone else have a very similar name? lol. I'm just trying to prepare myself for the possibility of not receiving any emails.

Thanks for any thoughts! I'm flipping out already and I don't even know for sure if my package has made it out the mail room! haha

I believe Blyth is simply someone in the mailroom not a ECO.. mine was signed for by Blyth in the mailroom on Friday, June 17th @10AM  I did not get the "official" email that they had recieved it and were starting processing until Monday the 20th

I guess centralizing to New York is not that bad, thought it might take longer!!

My spouse did Biometrics last thursday 16th June.
Fedex everything Friday 17th June.
Sign for by Blythe Monday morning 20th June.
ILE Settlement visa issued Tuesday 21st June.
UPS Delivered Wednesday 22nd June.

This was priority settlement as well.

Thanks to everyone who answered questions on the forum, while we were gathering the paperwork.

Welp, business day is over and no confirmation email from the consulate. What does this mean?! I know they received the documents because they signed for them, but still no official confirmation of receiving the docs from the consulate itself.

#Worried! haha

They don't always send confirmation, it just depends on who gets your case.  We all wish it was cut and dry but it's not ;-)  I know you want confirmation but breathe and relax not everyone gets one but it doesnt mean anything.

good luck!

Just got my visa approval email!!!!!   So timeline was this:

6.12.11- did online application
6.16.11- went for biometrics/sent in documentation priority overnight
6.17.11- got notice from fedex that it was delivered to consulate 10AM
6.20.11- got notice from consulate that they were starting processing
6.24.11- got visa approval email- visa to be delivered UPS tomorrow

To all those still waiting.. hang in there.. I was scared to death, worrying because I had heard nothing from them that something was wrong.. I never recieved the notice that the ECO was reviewing the application, so dont stress if you dont get that.. I wish everyone the best of luck, I know the waiting game is hard..
