X-Factor 2010

OK, it's my guilty pleasure.  :P ;D Who is watching this year and what do you think so far? Any contestants you particularly like or dislike?

I really like Rebecca Ferguson and what's his name - the builder in the boys group with the hat... Matt somebody? A bit shy, but great voice. Storm Lee can take a long walk off a short pier as far as I am concerned... he really annoys me. So glad they didn't let the trashy girl through as she couldn't sing to save her life. That boy is Aiden is embarrassingly cute... he looks like a young Elvis which kinda makes me swoon a little.  [smiley=blush.gif]

Any thoughts?  :)

Glad you started a thread, Jewlz!  I like Mary, the 50 year old Welsh woman.  I thought her first audition was amazing, but I don't think Louis is the right mentor for her.  He's going to be absolute rubbish with the over-28's.  I also like Cher, although her style is totally not my thing.  I just like that she's unique and I like her voice.  I like Rebecca's voice too, and I liked Gamu this evening, though I missed her first audition.  I really don't like the two diva boys, and I don't like the Italian guy either--his attitude is really obnoxious.  I'd really, really like to see an older person win, though I suspect that it will be one of the girls who wins this year.

Yes, probably one of the girls might win, though the boys seem a good group this year, too. Which would mean Cheryl could win for the third year in a row. Groups will hopefully be better this year with Simon mentoring them. I agree about Louis with the Over 28s and I like Mary and Gamu, too. Also think the Italian guy is lame and too weird.  :-\\\\ But I think the diva fever boys are kinda cute and fun.  ;) Better than Twem at least! And certainly better than Jedward. They might be fun to watch if they make it to the live shows. I kind of like Cher... but kind of don't. I feel terrible for saying so, but I think it's just that her facial expressions annoy me or something.  :-\\\\ :-[

I think the boy band group Simon put together is going to win it.  Just a hunch, I may eat my words in a few weeks.  I like Rebecca Ferguson and the blonde Madonna-y girl.  I think that Cher is a really unique performer and a breath of fresh air, but no way she'll win.  I also can't stand Storm or that arrogant ars* of an Italian.  Is it bad I was sorta making excuses to not go on a night out on Saturday because I want to watch the X Factor?

Diva Fever, meh. Cute boys, don't sing well enough for me.

LOL, me too.  She looks like she's in pain when she sings.  But there's something about her that I find appealing, despite that.

Aiden to win. That's all I'm saying.

My favourite girl is Katie.
My favourite group is Husstle.
My favourite over 28 is Mary.

But nobody holds a candle to my Aiden.

I have no time for Storm, Twem or Diva Fever. Hate them, hate their stupid names.

I think Cher might be successful, but I don't really like her. All those weird faces she pulls are too much for me. And can someone please give the girl a sandwich?

I really hate Katie she's a pretentious hipster pastiche and I resent stepping over her cloned ilk every time I go to rough trade.

I like painter guy who has amazing range and Gamu who has mad control, loved her vibrato.

Don't like Storm, think he's an idiot and he doesn't sound contemporary he has a great karaoke or wedding singer voice, don't like obnoxious Italian, thought Aiden's voice was cracking whenever he reached and I don't think he has any range, he's all tone and no chops.

I like Cher, but she is trying way too hard, I think also she has way too much fake attitude for someone from Wocestershire, which makes me doubt her authenticity, she's very clever though, as by not singing Mariah Carey or whatever she's made herself stand out, but it's almost like a costume she's put on.

I think diva fever are cute but can't really sing well enough.

Katie is a plant, she has already had a TV show and has been signed to BMG, from what I understand, she has been known to Simon Cowell for a whole. There is something superfishy about her. I don't like her at all. Sorry!

This happend on American Idol with Carly Smithson, she did well on the show, but the producers (including Simon) knew who she was from being in different bands etc.

Suck!!!!  >:(

Will be interesting to see who makes it through at the judges houses. I'm definitely hoping for Matt, Aiden, Gamu, Mary and Rebecca to make it to live shows. Rebecca to win, I think.  :)

It does happen a lot, I have a good memory for faces and I've seen that Molly girl from the Saturdays audition for Xfactor at least 3 times, one time she got through to judges houses in a girl trio and another time she was shouted at by Sharon Osbourne for wearing a tiny pair of gold shorts and made to sing again later.

I'm sure she would have shown up again only she got picked up for the Saturdays.

Any changes of heart? Thoughts of who may go through?

Faves for me are:

Girls: Rebecca and Kerri. LOVE Rebecca's voice. Think Kerri is gorgeous and like her voice, too. Desperately hope Katie and Cher don't get in. No drama please!  ::) I know Cher had a sore throat, so it wasn't exactly her fault, but something about her eyebrows / eyes really weirds me out, anyway.  :-\\\\ :-[ I do think she has something, but she looks like she is a bit crazy or something.  :-X

Boys: Aiden and Paije. Think Aiden is adorable and has a nice voice (and I like that he writes his own songs and is more original than many other contestants), but wish he would perform a bit better. I love the emotion, but a bit less twitchy legs and closed eyes would be nice.  :-\\\\ I've kind of gone off Matt for some reason. I think that was a stupid song choice since he IS, I think, a boy, but I know the judges picked the songs or whatever. Still... meh.  :-\\\\ I think Paije is the most likable one for me. He seems so nice and down to earth and just normal and has a great voice.

Groups: Boy band and girl band that Simon put together are probably my faves. I'm not really into pop groups, so it doesn't matter much to me.  :-\\\\ Might be different if they were rock bands!  ;)

Over 28s: Mary and John are the only two I think are ok.  :-\\\\ Most of the others are pretty weird! Disappointed that Mary forgot the lyrics and think that might have blown it for her. Not sure what will happen. That one guy Justin with the big ears looks so freakin' weird like some kind of elf or something. He kinda gives me the creeps!  :o :-X I'm sure Storm will end up going through for lack of much competition, but he seriously annoys me.  >:( Who the heck is that girl Elesha? I don't even remember her audition! Did they just pick her up off the street or something?!

Here's my list of favorites so far.

Girls:  Still Gamu and Rebecca. There's something about Rebecca's voice that really reminds me of Norah Jones. The rest are good, but I LOVE these two.

Boys:  Aidan and Paije.  I also really liked the one who sang Empire State of Mind, but I can't remember his name :(

Groups:  The girl band Simon put together and FYD.

Overs:  Mary and the guy who sang the song about being a millionaire.  (I swear, I'm not usually so bad at remembering names!)  Yuli wasn't bad either.

I know Mary forgot her lyrics, but contrast that with Katie messing up her song.  Mary just kept going without really even missing a beat..  She didn't have to stop and start over.  I really hope she gets through; I think Louis could end up being the most hated man in Ireland if he doesn't  :D  Could you imagine saying yes to Jedward but turning down someone with a bit of actual talent like her?
