That's not just happening in the new format - I haven't changed to the new format yet and my wall is suddenly now showing clips of things I've recently written on other people's walls! I think it's just started today as they weren't there this morning  :(.

You can go to your profile & select your wall and delete those...it doesn't delete what you wrote to your friend it just removes as an action from your wall & keeps it from showing up on non-concerned parties feed.

Oh, cool, thanks - I tried to do that a few minutes ago, but I couldn't see a way to stop them showing up... now there is a 'X' sign showing up though, so I'll delete them now (it didn't seem to be there before  :-\\\\).

i commented on someones picture about how i was going to buy it from them. I deleted the post off my wall that says "X commented on X picture", but unfortantley even though I deleted it off my wall, it still showed up on newsfeed and my partner found out what he was getting for christmas

was so not impressed

That's what I do, too but it's an annoying having to make that extra effort.

IS: That's pants.  I thought I was actually clearing that stuff off my friends' feeds.  >:( I swear every time I use FB I feel dirty.

Anyone think it's a coincidence that Zuckerman is named Time's MotY right before Social Network - produced by their movie company - comes out on DVD?

Yeah this.  You can delete the feed from your wall but you can't delete it from your friend's walls when they write to you.  So if I have a mutual friend with someone and the friend writes on my wall, the mutual friend can click on that feed and see not only what was written on my wall, but all the responses also.  Or if the mutual friend comments on one of my photos, the non-friend can then see the photo.  Even though all my stuff is set to private and should only be viewable by friends.

OK it seems that FB has unilaterally decided that EVERYONE gets the new profile as they've just switched mine to it without my approval or doing it on my own...this just cheeses me off to no end. I DON'T WANT THE NEW PROFILE! >:(

Ugh. I came onto this thread to moan about the new profile (which I've thankfully NOT been forced to use yet) and the new commenting thing showing up everywhere. It's really annoying me.

FB truly was a lifesaver for me as when I moved back to the US it enabled me to reconnect easily with old friends in the area. For the most part, we still all use FB to stay regularly in touch. However, I'm starting to teach in January and I'm really worried about privacy.

I am NOT pleased about this new commenting thing in particular. :(
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Last night I posted on my friends wall "Happy Birthday". I am 8 hours a head and I was up past midnight so it was her birthday! This morning I got a snarky message back saying "My birthday is tomorrow" Rude!!! I nicely replied "It is tomorrow HERE! ::)

Next rant! How the heck to you start a new paragraph in a message or on chat? Something has changed so now when you hit enter it sends instead of spaces!

Yeah, that's totally rude.

If you do shift+enter, you'll be able to start a new paragraph in a comment.

My mate works for FB and they forced him to the new profile plus had to make a custom link name as well before he started his training. He wasnt pleased.

My facebook rant is about "events".

An event is something that happens at a specific place and time.

Don't take something you like or a cause you believe in, call it an event and make the event last all day every day for the next four months.

I accepted an "event" like this not realising the implications, and even after unaccepting  it, I still had to permanently unsync Facebook from my phone because it was showing up on my calendar as something that I had to do every day.

Was I rude or was she? I don't know why but it just really bothered me as everyone else that posted on her wall she replied back with "thank you" and other similar comments. Oh, well. Life's to short so I'm moving on!
