We can boo louder than you saying you like it!  ;)

It's been snowing heavily since at least 6 am this morning.  Boooooooooooo!
Yeah, I was up at 7, but it seemed more wet and smaller flakes then--it's definitely bigger now.........so B00!

The reason for the snow is that there's a great big high pressure area over Europe at the moment that is trying to push cold air eastwards into the UK. On the other hand, though, we still have the normal low pressure systems from the Atlantic trying to bring milder air in from the west.

The forecasting problem at the moment is trying to figure out which one of the systems is going to win out over the other - at the moment it seems as though the systems are stuck just over the UK, so the west and south have the milder, cloudy, drizzly weather and the north and east are getting the colder, snowier weather (I'm in Bristol today and it's currently 7 degrees with lots of cloud and a bit of drizzle).

As one of the BBC weather presenters said earlier in the week, this weekend is bit of a forecasting nightmare :P!

I love that we have our very own weathergirl.  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

I'm not very pleased about this weather. Jon has gone to play with mates in Birmingham this weekend leaving me on my own with the girls. If it wasn't snowing I could at least drive around and see people but I don't do snow driving.

Thanks - I'm getting there... it's not official yet, though. I still have to complete another 6 months of courses and on-the-job training before I'll be fully qualified as a forecaster :).

WE've got a heavy dusting thats turning to slush. Still debating if I should get out there with the broom and sweep it away with grit on top. I just dont want it to ice over as our back steps are a nightmare with ice on them.

F-sake!  It's snowing again here right now!  :o >:(

And it was mild earlier, in the morning.

You should go to the shops and buy a bouquet of daffodils and brandish them at the snow. "Stay back", you can yell, "I have spring in a vase and I'm not afraid to use it!"

Good idea!  ;D

I'm thinking tulips...and I do need to go to the shops.

It's a rain/snow mix at the mo' - can't seem to make up its mind.

:D I like that!  Just bought some myself (though it's just wet and drizzly here in Coventry)

Jeez! (I haven't had the daily weather report) We had maybe about an inch this morning - which was soft and fluffy so didn't kill myself shoveling. At least it covers up the ugly black gritty snow leftover from all the previous storms.

When I watched the weather report this morning, I saw little white blobs moving along up there and though about our UKY polar bears.  ;)  It's been bone-freezingly cold and windy here today, I don't think I could deal with snow too!
