I woke up in the middle of the night with a tight, sore throat and it's still like that now. I am going to be SO peeved if I caught something at the GP's office in the 30 seconds it took me to fill out the repeat prescription form yesterday morning (as per usual, I wore gloves and touched NOTHING but there were a$$holes coughing 6 inches from me without covering their mouths, thanks.)

- Have been trying to get an appointment to see an eye doctor here at the eye hospital (where I work) for about 2 months. Finally have one - scheduled for May. At least it's on site and I won't have to travel, but I'd really rather be able to see sooner. Sigh.

- Chatted with a very nice woman about a flat which sounded promising. Scrapped because the property management company decided the flat "isn't big enough" for a large dog. Thanks a lot, you don't know MY dog or the space HE needs (next to none).

Realized this morning what the issue was last night that I spent 2 hours trying to fix.

Hate dumb mistakes.

It's not a dumb mistake. The theory is that while you are sleeping your subconscious works on problems. That is why they often seem easier the next day.

If I get stuck at work on a problem I switch to something else for 10-20 minutes then go back to it for the same reason.

I never make a big decision without sleeping on it also.

A few weeks ago a girl in the 10 year old's class gave her a phone number-she wanted her to come 'round for tea.  Needless to say my daughter was thrilled.
Last week I was finally able to get a hold of the Mum to arrange a date.
Today the girl comes up to my daughter and says that she no longer wants her to come over.
Now, my daughter does not get invited to anyone's house and was really looking forward to it.   She is a bit upset, and I alternate between wanting to cry and wanting to ask the Mum why her child is so rude-and not in a polite way either.

That sucks for your daughter Red5.  I'm really sorry.

I am going to unload a few here because it's just been one of those days.

1. Everything just really hit me last night and I was too upset to sleep, and dh had to get up super early today.  Neither one of us has been functioning properly all day.

2. Someone got sick in the stairwell at work (a University library so not that uncommon I'd suspect).

3. Dominoes got my pizza order wrong.

4. A friend, who just returned to the US from Korea, had the worst plane ride ever for 12 hours and just reading about the experience brought on a major anxiety attack (I'm terrified of flying).

5.  The chocolate that could have made it all better did not come with the tesco order, and I KNOW I ordered it.

Excuse me while I go pull the duvet over my head.

Feeling super icky. :( Way to go away quietly, head cold.

Also, contact about a dozen people about flats - of which I'm sure 0 will be willing to contemplate pets. :(

Sorry you had such a crummy day persephone!  :-\\\\  Hopefully today is better.

My IA: We've acquired a damp problem in our bedroom.  Specifically the cupboard and around the windows.  BF used to have a problem in the cupboard but it had stopped.  I guess it's back.   :(

Now I've got a little heater shut up in there and I'm hoping it can dry it out a bit.  The windows I can bleach and just wipe the condensation off every day to keep it at bay, but how the heck do you deal with walls?  We definitely need to paint it over, but I want it to stop first, how do I do that?  Can anyone give advice or point me to a good thread, I'm sure there are more than a few!

Mould. Ugghhhhhhhhhhhhh!  Here's some happy reading:

Oh my! I'm glad to see I'm not alone in this!  Thanks so much for the links.  I don't think it's a leaky pipe, because there would be evidence of it on the ceiling or wall downstairs as well, and I'm pretty sure there's no pipe there anyway.  Hmmmm.  Would be nice if it was something obvious at least! Ugh.  Looks like we'll be spending the weekend trying to investigate what the source might be and then have a bleaching party.  :-\\\\

We have mould all over our bathroom.  I can really recommend the detol mould killer in the green bottle.  You spray it on black mould, it dies, you move on with your life.  LOVE IT!
