Yikes! What a nightmare. I agree with having it towed. It may be passive aggressive, but hitting them in the pocketbook a time or two in towing fees might get your point across without having to talk until you are blue in the face. The longer they keep at it, the harder it is going to be to get it to end.

On the plus side, the rest of the neighbours are aware of how they are, so they won't think less of you for standing up for yourselves.

Mine: Minor in comparison, but I hate having to break in a new grocery store. I want to go where it is cozy and familiar and I know where things are. There are three very close to us, and yet I am headed to Walmart in a bit for the second time since moving here, just because all Walmarts are nearly the same no matter where you go.

No motivation to work and a lot of work to do.  :-\\\\

Sizing of products.  Why is it that the things you would really like to have a large size of, like baking soda or cider vinegar, come in titchy amounts. (not to mention the restriction on paracetamol)  But the things you want a smallish amount of come in humongous packages. The only small size of frozen veg. seems to be peas -- everything else comes in 1 kg. size package that takes up the whole freezer!

Try Holland & Barrett - I know they have a bigger bottle of cider vinegar there. Could be they have baking soda too, but not sure.  :)

My local Chinese market has 3 kilo bags of baking soda for around £3.59.

Why do people need such large quantities of baking soda and vinegar?

They are both fantastic natural cleaners. :)

I use vinegar regularly in the rinse cycle of my washing machine and to remove limescale.

Baking soda is mildly abrasive and makes a nice scrub as well as many other things.

I also use table salt (33p/kilo at Morrisons) as an occasional pre-wash soak for my smelly workout clothes. Kills the bacteria lingering there and takes away the odour for pennies.

I have used baking soda as a toothpaste substitute in the past, and as a fridge deodoriser, but i never thought of the other stuff!

It's ridiculous how many things you can use them both for and they are cheap compared to many other products. I also like that they are environmentally friendly.

You have reminded me that I am low on vinegar. Thanks!  :)

Absolutely!  My favorite is pouring a good amount of soda down a sluggish drain and then topping it up with the vinegar.  Makes a lovely 'volcano' effect!  Improves the aroma vastly as well.  Vinegar is also good for getting that soap scum off your taps.
DH uses  soda dissolved in water as a mouth wash for sore throats or sore mouth. (I've always used salt for that)

I am going to buy a larger amount of vinegar/baking soda/table salt today and come back home and use it in the washer/kitchen sink and for laundry! I read about the different ways vinegar/baking soda/salt can be used and think, huh, I should try that, but never do.... But since I am going grocery shopping today, it will go on my list and I will try all of the above! Thanks for the tips ladies!  :D

The NFL has changed their bag allowances into stadiums this year, for improved safety. You can now carry a clear bag, that doesn't exceed 12 x 12 inches. IF you must carry a bag, it can be a clutch the size of a hand, or any other bag that does not exceed 4.5 x 6.5 inches. Because hand size varies, and I didn't want to come up to a security woman with very tiny hands who might say my bag was too big since it was the size of my hand, I measured by inches. The bag I took measured 4 x 5 inches. I double and triple checked it.

Before we were to the gate we came to security who stopped me and told me my bag was too big and I couldn't take it in. I tried and tried to explain I measured and was well within the inch allowance. He wasn't willing to listen and gave me the option of taking it back to the car, or throwing it away. We parked quite a way from the stadium to save the extortionate parking prices closer to the stadium, so I had no choice but throw the bag away.

I get the rule is new, but there needs to be something in place where they can measure bags to see if they are allowed. I saw several the same size, or even bigger, while we were in the stadium.

You can, however, still carry a portable television in with you... Forgive me for being  dense, but isn't easier to hide a bomb inside a portable television than a handbag that is smaller than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches?

DH got a letter in the mail from his sister and the envelope is all pink and swirly and girly.... but it's only addressed to him.   :-\\\\  I don't know what it is, but we're not expecting anything from them so it's strange.... especially since it's only addressed to him.   :-\\\\  Make me feel a bit left out.... especially since SIL didn't send a card or anything for my birthday.... obviously not something I'm going to demand, but it would be nice to feel a bit more welcomed to the UK.... it kind of reminds me that I don't have family nearby and I'm not really a part of the in-law family yet.....   :-[

I'll just have to wait until he gets home to see what it is..... hopefully not something important that I really feel left out of..... but the envelope isn't just an ordinary envelope and she doesn't usually send us post..... I've got no idea what to think/feel  ???

My SIL actively hates me, I think. I feel your pain.  I just hope we can clear the our before the big move.  I am going to kidnap her during our next visit, pre-arranging childcare for all the kids, and make her go out with me for a drink or five.  Perhaps we can duke it out and get on at least speaking terms.

I don't think she hates me, I just think that she might not realise that she (and the rest of my family-in-law) are the only family I've got around here and it can be tough to adjust to a new place sometimes (although I've done pretty well, I think).
