That's my biggest regrets that I didn't follow through with law school. For some reason I talked myself down from it.

Sounds like you would be a good lawyer :)

You saved yourself about $100,000 and three years of career progression while you weren't in law school.  ;)  The market is saturated, and you really have to love it, or know how to work the law school game and graduate top of your class (hint: I didn't, but I would now if I had it to do over again), to get your money's worth out of it.

The kind of law I would love to do (civil rights) isn't the kind of law that pays particularly well.    I've been very fortunate, and was able to walk away.  I have many former classmate/friends who feel trapped by their degree and the accompanying loans they took to finance it.
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)

I vaguely remember this person. I didn't realize the lawyer got on here too. I missed that!

Yep. And they were writing things opposite of what Ksand and KFDancer were telling people to do. It was a little bit funny.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Can't believe I missed that, sounds kind of comical. But probably really annoying to those two.

Seems like a valid suspicion.  I don't understand trolling.  Why do it?  Can't they find better things to do with their time?

I know way too many people who spend their lives trolling, because that *is* what they do with their time. They find it hilarious. (I'm not friends with these people, just observe them from a distance. Tiny music scene = too many "big" fish in a small pond.)

Seeing Greyfrier's Bobby was an inconvenient annoyance for my daughter.

But having a drink made her smile again as well as getting her long awaited tattoo.

She and her girlfriend are on the train this morning to Mallaig then off to Oban tomorrow. She will be back on Friday then I have to say goodbye to her on Saturday. :(

She brought my Velveeta! And my good Tum's and my prescription medications... so everything I asked for.

She actually looks so annoyed because she has a genetic skin condition... you know the DEBRA charity shops... for people whose skin doesn't work right?

She and her brother have that disease. EB. But luckily, it only affects their feet. They get huge chronic blisters covering their feet from any kind of friction on their feet. They do a good job of dealing with it but walking really sucks for her. She had to give up her dream of joining the Navy because there is no way she would be able to deal with wearing boots and walking, running.

Oh man, that's sh*t! Well done to her for being able to push herself to her limits!

She needed a pint and a rest and she pushed on. She's had to since she was about 2 years old.

There is no prevention, only treating the blisters... which is actually pretty horrific. They have to cut the skin completely off the blisters then let them heal. So at almost any time, they are walking on sore, raw skin. And the blisters grow on top of each other so they can get 5 or 6 layers,of blisters on top of each other.

I used to have to send them to school in slippers.

My son is an apprentice electrician and has to wear steel toe boots all day. His feet are always a huge mess.

Awesome tattoo!
She's been planning it for 2 years. She was able to get a tattoo at almost 16 when we were visiting Alabama  (no age limit) but they wouldn't tattoo in a visible area.

She, my oldest daughter and I all got the same tattoo. It is a heart with a rainbow and a ladybug. It represents all 3 of us.

One of my sisters and I want to get matching matryoshka dolls (I'd have the smaller one and she'd have the bigger one) where we'd change the design a bit to make them more "us" for sister tattoos. Our other sister isn't into tattoo-ing though so she didn't want to be part of it. We thought it'd be cool to have big, medium, and little.

Oh gosh nctami72, I'd have a look worse on my face than that if I had constant blisters on my feet.  Aww :-(  Luckily, the Greyfriar's Bobby pub is quite a nice place to have a pint and a rest! (Assuming that's where you went, but lots of nice pubs in that area).
Hopefully they're having a nice time on the West Coast!
I've never gotten food on my underpants!
Work permit (2007) to British Citizen (2014)

Owwww :( I have it bad w/ EDS, but that I think is definitely worse. Do they ever use a wheelchair to have less time on their feet?
