I did something I'd been dreading today after my stress levels got so high I have been worried about being hospitalised. I started reacting to everything I ate, everything that touches me, etc. I haven't been diagnosed but I'm pretty sure I have something called mast cell activation disorder, where basically any trigger can cause anaphylaxis under the right stressor (hoping the consultant I see in a few months is versed in it - otherwise I'll just be labeled idiopathic). When chicken and rice (plain, no additives at all) made me keep the epi pen at hand after taking fast acting antihistamines it became clear I had to immediately reduce the stress. So the work drama is over. It had to be. I can survive without an income for a short time, anaphylaxis is another story. *sigh*

Gonna work on a LinkedIn post about accessibility. People need to know that invisible conditions exist and can be easily adapted for.

You've gotta take care of you first. No amount of stress or income is worth your life.

Idiopathic doesn't sound like a nice diagnosis.

You've got my sympathy.

It isn't a nice diagnosis. It tends to get translated as "We don't know what is causing it. If "it" is even real. So we'll just leave it at that and not bother to try to find out."

Invisible disabilities... I remember attending a conference run by a disabled person's organization, a couple of decades ago. And being treated as a second-class citizen  there, as I was someone who wasn't "really" disabled because I "looked" normal and so really didn't have a "right" to be there.

Everyone does it. It gets soooo old.

Yeah, it gets frustrating that people with physical disabilities often are less disabled than many people with invisible ones. (worth noting there's no sport to see who is more disabled - that happens too much as well.) The only thing that will help is more visibility and awareness!

SO f*cked off today. I'm  still ill and hacking up lungs (and due to go camping tomorrow for the night. YAY.) and the last thing I want to deal with is PC issues. I'm under serious time constraint with something that needs to get out before COP today but I've literally had to restart my PC like 3 times already because outlook keeps crashing and, if I don't restart, it only seems to want to restart in safe mode (which prompty "doesn't respond" and crashes).  Today is not the finest of Friday's I've ever had.

Sorry about the work stuff but you can always cancel the camping if you don't feel up to it. Bad enough being ill in a nice warm bed, not fun at all in a field!

I'm keeping an eye on the weather and trying to get to bed early but if I wake up tomorrow *worse*, I definitely won't be going, I'll just send my husband along...

My problem is that I'm not shy and I can be stubborn and have no problems speaking up or pushing back....but I'm also a people pleaser who likes to keep the peace. I know I would hear about it if I didn't go...but then I know that even if I *do* go, there'll be some comment made about something regardless from one particular individual. I asked if any activity was planned (because I really can't do anything too active) and he suggested riding bikes until he remembered we'd have the dog with us. I told him I could just stay behind with the dog and he said he "didn't think that would go down well" and that it was "best to keep the group together" given the "little time we had" so it's already starting with the passive aggressive comments.

Do you need Outlook for your work?  Can you just shut that down so it stops crashing and keep your computer going while you work in another app?

5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!

Unfortunately not as I *need* outlook to do what I'm currently working on

Just a little brown spider. At least it's not a Wolf spider with her babies on board.
