My son's school. I ask them about 2 weeks ago if they have enough pull ups and changes of clothes for him. Yes.

Today I get a phone call - we don't have anything for him.

This would be totally fine, if it weren't for the fact that he hasn't had to be changed at school once in those 2 weeks since I asked!!

And in a related IA, I want to get the same son into a local charter school as I think the philosophy they have will greatly benefit him. But it's lottery only and the odds aren't all that wonderful. :(
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Anxiety
Social anxiety. Really wanting to meet new people today, but terrified bout it. :(

I hear ya ladies...I have a mild form of GAD (Generalised Anxiety Disorder) where I worry about pretty much everything and it's really bad when I don't have a specific plan of action for the day or future. Right now it's pretty bad.

My IA:  DH closed his savings at the Building Society and they issued him a cashiers check for the amount. We are going to use that money to pay for our moving expenses including plane tickets home. He deposited the cheque into his Barclays current account on Wednesday and we're still waiting for the funds to clear. In the meantime we can't book flights or our movers until it clears. Hence my GAD is flaring up  :-\\\\

Our email was downloading just fine until yesterday, when all of a sudden it was 'stuck' - like it wouldn't get past the 'scanning & downloading' thing to download a single email.

So DH (IT guru) researches it this morn to find out where the problem is - on our end or theirs & determines it's a problem with the Virgin Media server & specifically what the problem is.  So he rings them to explain...except that their response is that because we use Opera browser & email (nevermind the problem is on their end & everything worked fine until yesterday) - 'they are not trained to help with that'.

::)  So everyone in the world must use Explorer & Outlook because that's how Virgin Media techs are trained?  FFS!  (Sounds like our Helpdesk at work - even I could earn a tidy living by telling everyone to restart their computers three times & that'll sort the problem - no matter what it might be.  Three times, I tell you - it's the magic number!)

He wasn't happy & was going to email them later on, but apparently they've got it sorted because it's working again now.  Unbelieveable!

Had to wade through a puddle approximately the size of Lake Superior while carrying Jean in order to get to the bus stop to take her to dance class this morning, resulting in soaking wet socks!  Ugh!

"Is your lemonade made from real lemons?

Are your cookies made from real girl scouts?"

Wednesday!!  :D

All this talk of Girl Scout Cookies is killing me.  Why doesn't some American (living in the US) on this site just offer to sell/ship GS cookies to the UK at exorbitant prices and make a killing.  ;)  We'll buy some!!  ;D

I was a 4-Her for 13 years- (guess where I get my love of agriculture/farming?) and we used to sell 4-H cookies.  Talk about ghetto. No one wanted them!!

I was in 4H too, but we never sold cookies.  I loved 4H!  It was much better than Brownies and Camp Fire Girls, which I also tried.  My 4H rabbit went on to win a blue ribbon for "Best White Fur" at the Iowa State Fair.  :)

My mom and sister were here for a visit for less than 24 hours and went through an entire roll of toilet paper.

They woke up at 6am. The plan was for them to "quietly leave" and I'd stay asleep. I woke up to doors opening and shutting and them "talking" (yelling) to each other from different rooms. Then the upstairs neighbors started banging on their floor because of the noise. I had to keep reminding my mom to hold it down, but she is just so loud and wouldn't. Then she got mad at me because I keep telling her she needed to talk quietly.  ::)

They are finally gone and I am going back to sleep!

This is barely even an inconvenient annoyance, but--my tummy!  I ate just a little something hours ago and am feeling a bit sort of semi nauseous and like I won't have any appetite for the rest of the day.  And then......blammo!  All of a sudden my tummy is ravenous and growling for food, but dinner isn't for at least a couple of hours.

Next time maybe you should feed them stuff with lots of eggs in?

The wind today. It's unreal and it's giving me a headache.

Rushed home to get here in time for my little brother's birthday party (just us and another family, so pretty low-key). Got home to kids whining, parents arguing. They started singing happy birthday without me. And now we're watching Karate Kid, which holds no interest for me.

I don't really mind any of this (except the singing, just 'cause I think that's a little rude), but given the choice, I would've rather stayed where I was and ate dinner/played board games some more. ;)

Oh, and now I have to pack again. Yuck.
