I'm a little bit hungover... I had a few mixed drinks yesterday, and then DH and I drank a whole bottle of wine.  :-X

I've been here 5 months. There's a suitcase I still haven't unpacked.  I brought everything in those space bags, you know where you vacuum all the air out?  I opened one of them and all I could smell was the smell of the laundry detergent that I used before I left.  It reminded me of home and I couldn't stop sobbing and had a complete breakdown.  I was crying too much to explain to DH, who just let me cry and put the suitcase away for me. :(

Aww, you poor thing. :( I used to breakdown like that back in the US whenever I'd pull out an article of clothing that smelled like the washing powder my (now) DH used. Smells can bring back memories stronger than any other sense. I'm sorry it affected you the way it did. :( *sending hugs*

Aww, hugs!  You know I've been here nearly 7 years & I still have some boxes up in the loft that I haven't unpacked, plus a couple suitcases full of my grandma's quilts (which I really should see to).  It's because these boxes are full of stuff from my mom's & grandma's houses - old family scrapbooks, sentimental memento items, photo albums of my earlier life & all sorts - it's just been too emotionally hard to go through them as of yet.  (Grandma died in 2005 & Mom in 2008.)  I know whenever I feel ready - well they aren't going anywhere.

My IA:  Oh man, I feel so exhausted this morning!  I think it's the combination of our walk yesterday plus we split a bottle of wine with tea - my liver doesn't know which damage to repair first.  :P  (And DH woke up & was restless from 6 am, which didn't help me to get enough sleep in either.)

Huff, and further, this washing up left from last night just isn't going to do itself!  I've been waiting & nothing has happened yet.  Le sigh.  :P

I had that moment this morning as well. :P I did most of it, but there are still pans that need to be washed by hand. By HAND!  :o  We should use nothing but paper plates and plastic knives and forks.

I have 2: The cat will NOT leave me alone while I am working on my lecture right now. If it's not the kids, it's the cats!

And the other - for some reason thumbnails for my jpegs are not working on my laptop anymore. This is a huge IA as I teach art history and need to see my images in thumbnail view in order to place them correctly in my slide shows. I've tried everything and nothing is working. Grrrr.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

ARGH, I HATE formatting issues; they make my blood pressure skyrocket. My IA: didn't sleep all that well last night, not being all that productive today.

My dad made dinner last night with a "vegetarian" option for me. The entire kitchen smelled like sausage, which made me queasy, and of course the same spoons/bowls/etc that had just been in the meat went in the non-meat things. And half the ingredients were combined with the meat so my dinner was basically rice and beans.

My family doesn't "mind" me being vegetarian, but they certainly don't really get/cater to it.

The house is fah-reezing.  I need a snuggie made out of 13.5 tog duvet rather than fleece.

Stupid f***ing Easyjet!  >:( We're trying to go to a wedding in Finland in June, and had a perfectly timed and affordable flight out of Manchester booked. Today Easyjet decided to cancel that flight, so now we can only leave 2 days before or 2 days after, which means spending more time imposing on someone we don't know/paying for 2 nights in a hotel we can't afford, or missing the wedding because the flight comes in late the night before and we won't make it up in time. The next cheapest option is at least £100 more, and with our own wedding to pay for, that's not exactly trivial. Screw you Easyjet!
Arrived as student 9/2003; Renewed student visa 9/2006; Applied for HSMP approval 1/2008; HSMP approved 3/2008; Tier 1 General FLR received 4/2008; FLR(M) Unmarried partner approved (in-person) 27/8/2009; ILR granted at in-person PEO appointment 1/8/2011; Applied for citizenship at Edinburgh NCS 31/10/2011; Citizenship approval received 4/2/2012
FINALLY A CITIZEN! 29/2/2012

And you went through so much trouble to find those tickets, too!

DD's been off her food today, and around 3 this afternoon she started vomiting. She's so worn out that she's now gone to bed (she asked to) an hour earlier than her usual bed time...I know it's just a tummy bug and she gets something every single time we let her play at the little play area in Westfield, so this time it's PUKE! Guess what worried parent won't be sleeping tonight  :(
