Went and saw the movie, it was fantastic!  Seems like the entire audience was Americans old enough to have been alive when it was actually happening.

The crowd scenes were interesting, barely saw anyone smoking and almost every male was wearing an actual suit.  In Florida, in July.

There were parts where even though you knew the end, you were still absolutely on the edge of your seat.

Oh, coolies. I have to go see that this week!  ;D  It's at the Science Center IMAX.

I remember watching it all on TV. I was pretty much glued to the TV that week. Could  not understand why my mom didn't want to watch it - but she just didn't get into the spirit of this sort of thing!

What a crazy couple of days :(.

I arrived back from the US on Saturday, but had a mad rush through Heathrow as my plane from Dallas landed only 15 minutes before my connection to Manchester was due to board, so I ran through immigration, security and to the gate, only to find the gate had changed! I ran to the new gate, and it turned out the aircraft had a fault, they were changing planes and the flight was delayed 30 minutes - so I didn't need to exhaust myself getting there after all (having only got 2 hours of sleep on the overnight flight as well)!

Luckily I got to Manchester without issue. My plane landed at 3:30pm and the next train home wasn't until 5:53pm, so I had plenty of time. However, when I got to the train station at 4:08pm, I discovered there was actually a 4:10pm train which hadn't been listed on the website... I ran to get it, but the train pulled away just as I got to the platform, which meant I had to wait for the 5:53pm train after all. Got home about 9:30pm and managed to get a decent (but restless) amount of sleep and had a good day getting myself unpacked and organised yesterday.

Unfortunately, that's where the good part ends.

Last night, I went to bed at 10:20pm as I needed to be up at 6:30am this morning for work. At 11pm, my head started pounding (I'm assuming a combination of stress from the travelling and hormones) and it pounded all night long, plus it was hot and stuffy in my room. As a result I got exactly ZERO sleep (my FitBit recorded absolutely no periods of sleep for me last night) :(.

I dragged myself into work this morning for a 9-hour shift on no sleep and still with a pounding headache, so I was shaky and lightheaded most of this morning  :(. Thankfully my boss let me leave 2.5 hours early and I went home finally managed to get 1hr 20min of sleep, but then I had to get up for an eye appointment at 4:30pm... and of course I got stuck in traffic and barely made it there in time (took me 35 minutes to drive 3 miles).

I'm back home now and have had some dinner, but I have to go back into work again in about 25 minutes for a team meeting, and then it's back AGAIN at 7am tomorrow for a 12-hour shift.

I just hope I can get some sleep tonight and the jetlag/headache doesn't keep me up again... because at the moment, I'm running on 1 hour 20 minutes of sleep in the last 33 hours.

Oh no!  I always send happy thoughts when I see people running in an airport.  I’ve been that person and it BLOWS!

I hope you get some good sleep.

How was Disneyland?  ;D

So... I ordered from Tesco, and they brought everything I ordered, and had to upgrade a couple of items because the ones I ordered were out of stock, so I got better stuff for the same cost.  A 100% positive Tesco experience.  Even my avocados are of a good standard!  I was feeling really pleased with myself and with Tesco.

And then I realized I never put the bread away.  And that's because I didn't order any.  *stares*   I spent a ridiculous amount of money on a week's groceries for the two of us, and I forgot to buy bread.  I need 12 slices for my husband's three-day weekend of potatoes-eggs-and-toast!

A pigeon flew into my lounge last night while me and my 5 year were snuggling on the sofa.  We screamed like girls.  Luckily the bird did a quick u-turn and was out but WOW did it scare us!  Made me miss screens.

While you totally have my sympathies, I would be lying if I said I didn't just laugh when picturing that! hahah I am constantly terrified they will come in our loft windows (which is our bedroom window)

Not long after I met my now-husband on Facebook, pretty much right after I added him as a friend (at my now-FIL's suggestion), a rook flew into his lounge.  He posted about it on Facebook. He started hearing all kinds of sounds coming from the lounge, so he went to investigate and found it flapping around in a panic and creating a huge mess of ashes from the fireplace, clutter knocked all about, and the best part in the post was "It shat on my champagne!"

I had a seagull come in the back door once and get into the laundry room... that was fun! Poor things though, they just took a wrong turn and all they want to do is get back outside!  :)

A dove. The bird of peace.

We have one that is always coming up to the door trying to be let in. She's the sweetest. We have an indoor cat so the door is always closed, and they haven't had a stare down through the glass yet!

Nobody in my family wants to go see the new Apollo 11 movie

The Moon Landing in IMAX!

I saw this today (regular, not IMAX, as "there are no IMAX showings of this film within 50 miles of your location"  ::), that's my IA).

OUTSTANDING MOVIE!!

If you liked that movie, you'll also like the podcast "13 Minutes to the Moon" by the BBC World Service.  It examines the 13 minutes up to the landing in minute detail.  The more detail you learn, the crazier it is that it actually happened.

I'm on the episode where they talk about the system of reading the numbers off the computer and comparing them to a graduated marker etched into the window in order to evaluate the landing site.  Unbelievable!
