Just booked my practical driving test and the first available date wasn't until mid-November! ::) When I checked last week, there were a few in early/mid October. So annoyed that I have to wait 3 months to take this stupid test. Guess I'll have to check every day and hope someone cancels an earlier appointment...

You can always check with other sites (towns) near you (If there ARE any towns near you). Sometimes the waits at other sites are shorter. At least.....that's from what I have seen online from other folks. I "only" had to wait a month or so for mine a couple of years ago. I still wonder if these long wait times are just another method to try and keep people off the road.

I checked all the ones within about 60 miles (and there aren’t many!) and my best option was still the one in my town (plus I will have to use a driving instructors car since I don’t have one). It’s not a massive deal as I can use my US license until the end of December if I need it, I was just hoping to get it done earlier.

Personally, I'd stick in the area you're having your lessons in. It'll be much easier if you already know the roads as you are being tested. :)

elee27, Maybe you can teach my husband how to use the roundabout on the A96 near Tesco/Lidl,  he's always confused on how to navigate that one and always has to ask me how to navigate through it.   ;D

Way more than an IA but I didn't want to start a new thread.

We lost the family dog to cancer today. She hasn't left my daughters side in 13 years. She was a dedicated and loyal friend. Family member.

My daughter is devastated. I'm not there. The loss is a big one. My daughter suffers from depression and anxiety attacks and Emily was her constant. The one thing she knew she could always count on.

I hate being away from my kids. Especially during times like these. It wrecks me.

And you can't even explain to the cat that her dog momma is not coming home.

Emily, you were a gift.

The grief over a loss of a pet can be very traumatic, I hope your daughter is ok. And that this hurricane is far enough from them. Sending lots of love their direction.

When she's ready, visiting a shelter to take pups for walks may help ease the pain a lil and get cuddles from floofs who also need love.

You can pay for a service that will notify you (and even book you, I believe) if an earlier slot opens up. I used this and it worked!
