Married 04/13/11, in NYC.
Applied for Spouse Visa the following week, with express service, and I was approved 4 days later!
Arrived in the UK 05/20/11.
I took the stupid LIUK Test Oct. 2012.
We were granted ILR In Person in Croydon on 04/23/13.
Got BRP 2 days later, in mail box - it just appeared.

The way things work in the UK, if you do not put enough postage on, she will get a notice saying she has to go to the Post Office to pay the extra postage before she can get the letter.

Plus if you do a transfer of the money, I believe you pay a fee for that--much better to do a stamp and make her work.  I could be wrong though.

Yes, really.

It is one of the things I found odd about the UK when I moved here.

I think it explains why people don't usually put return addresses on things, because if there is insufficient postage it doesn't get sent back; it just sits in the post office until the intended recipient comes to pay the extra postage.

She might post on Facebook that you owe her money for a stamp, which would be hilarious.

I would LOVE to do ALL of the things suggested... But, i am just gonna pay puta loca, and get it over with. I don't want to give her anything to "Point" too.

When she starts attacking all of her new husbands friends, and isolating him, I am hoping that he will be able to see that it is HER, and not them... And she WILL try to do it.

I think he is gonna need his friends more than ever with a wife like that... And, my husband really cares for him.

I actually went back to this thread because I remember some excellent suggestions for dress-buying, and then got totally sucked in to the DRAMA of this nightmare wedding from hell!  I am so sorry you went through this, but am completely impressed with the dignified and classy way you have handled every single annoying hurdle that has been thrown at you! Bravo! Just goes to show, money can't buy class :)
Moved from Washington DC to the Orkney Islands November 2007
Received ILR October 2012

GAH!

I can't believe I missed so much!

Carajo you should have paid Puta Loca in PENNIES!!!  That alone would have been worth the price of having to deal with seeing her again.  Ah well...I'll fantasize on that one.  Good for you!  Did you follow up on FB saying "So sorry about your economic difficulties. So we deposited x amount into your account. Hope it turns around."

LOL

This is what happened:

We transfered the funds into her account...

My hubby sent her hubby a text says, "Hey Ben, we transferred the funds. Please let Steph know. Cheers mate."

AND GOT NO RESPONSE. Silence.

That was 3 days ago.

You can send her a message that since she hasn't responded that she received the money, you are worried it accidently went to the wrong bank account, so if you don't hear from her soon, you'll have the payment reversed.

But I know you just want puta loca out of your hair, so you will probably just not do anything.
