I know, I know. It's just that when you see a half-naked bimbo from a reality show reading a book ... you kind of assume it's a crap book. I won't judge a bimbo by her cover next time! ;)

Just don't judge the cover by the bimbo.... ;D

I'm liking My Sister's Keeper so much I went out and bought The Pact today. And just because I can't buy just ONE book (it'd be all sad and lonely!!) I also bought Gilead by Marilynne Robinson (don't know anything about it but looked interesting) and also a new copy of 1984 to re-read. Have I said that I *heart* Fopp?! I do! I really, really do!! I *heartheartheart* Fopp!! ;D
I know I'm late - where's the booze?

I *loved* Gilead- Marilynne Robinson is a wonderful author...I can recommend an old one by her called Housekeeping- it is one of my favourite books of all time.

I just finished Cloud Atlas.

Apologies to the masses - but I didn't like it - I didn't get the *point* obviously.

My next read will be Stephen King's Cell but it doesn't come out until tomorrow.  :(

I have in my grubby little hands Cell - it was half price at Waterstones!

Also picked up My Sister's Keeper based on this thread!

Can't wait to read them both!  :)

I'm so caught up in the characters in Saturday that, after reading about them having a salade nicoise for dinner ... I had to make one tonight! :D

I flipped a coin to decide whether to start Gilead or The Pact first. The former won and it's very moving, I have to say.

I finished Saturday, but wish it could have gone on for another few hundred pages! It was so wonderful!

Tonight, I'm going to start Jhumpa Lahiri's The Namesake.

I really enjoyed The Namesake- have you read Interpreter of Maladies?

I've just started Keeping Faith by Jodi Picoult.
