I really enjoyed The Namesake- have you read Interpreter of Maladies?

Yes, and I looooved Interpreter of Maladies! So far, The Namesake is just as good, too. She's a fabulous writer.

I finished Saturday, but wish it could have gone on for another few hundred pages! It was so wonderful!

Steve enjoyed that book too - I have yet to read it.  I wasn't sure 'cause I read some reviews that weren't very recommending, but Steve said he thought the reviewers in question (I don't remember who it was) either didn't really read the book or just didn't 'get' it. :)
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

- from Anthem, by Leonard Cohen (b 1934)

I find people either love or hate McEwan's style. He can write 10 pages about something as small and simple as the way a person glances at another person. To me, that's wonderful.

Just read The Color Purple for a uni paper. Saw the movie years ago, but the book is just as good, if not better. Now onto A Doll's House.

Cannot wait to read The Namesake!  I absolutely adored Interpreter of Maladies and was wondering if The Namesake lived up to it....

I'm re-reading all the Harry Potter books.  On number 3 so far.

I've decided to go ahead and take the day off after the release date of the last book.  So I can go get my copy at midnight from the shop and read all night.

Yeah, I'm really that sad.

Well when you get to number 5, can you pop on down to Wilts and read it to my son? I've been putting it off for weeks now :-\\\\
