Yes, I used to think it was the end of the world when it got down to 50F!  And I never even put on a jacket there until it was below 70F -- I didn't have *any* winter clothes when DH & I started dating.  :P

That sounds so like my story! I'm originally from NC, so I've felt it get down to -4F, but it's rare. I still don't have any "winter" clothes suitable for here! I'm a big larger than most places stock coats, so I still don't have a coat. I have a few long sleeved shirts, a fleece jacket (thin) and a sweater, but that's it!

We are flying to the States for Thanksgiving and my cousin said that it was getting really cold at night now... 40's at night. I told her that was our daytime temps already!

I definitely won't mind snow, I love it! I was born on a day that it was snowing, and I haven't had snow on my birthday since!!!

If it's going to be cold, I want snow. Might as well make it worth it.  ;D

Yeah, I've heard reports of snow in NYC as well from a friend that's coming to visit us tomorrow.. hope it doesn't delay her flight.

This is our first winter in England.. I hear in London it doesn't snow that much (Or really even freeze over).. is this true? If so, that's a bit of a disappointment as I'll miss the 2 feet+ of snow that we used to have back home in NYC..

Thanks!

I shall now therefore humbly propose my own thoughts, which I hope will not be liable to the least objection.

Yes, it's true... it doesn't snow much in London.

In an average winter, you'll see maybe 5-10 days of snowfall in total, but it probably won't settle on the ground... unless we get a freak snowfall like in 2010 (which was only a few inches), you probably won't see more than a couple of inches, and if it does settle, it will only last for a couple of days before it melts.

Snow in Glasgow overnight.  Just enough to make this morning's commute a pain.

I take it back... the rain's on now, so by the time I leave for work, the snow should be away.  :)

We got a bit of snow here last night! Not even an inch, but still a white Christmas in my book!  :) Supposedly getting more on Wednesday/Thursday but not really sure how much or how certain they are about that.

Oddly, it didn't stick at all where my parents live in Central Jersey but it DID stick 45 minutes south of here (Jackson), where I went last night to a friend's mom's for a Christmas Eve party. Still it was kind of scary driving on poorly lit old country roads in the snow last night and as a result I didn't have anything to drink at all at the party.

A little dusting or so in Greater Boston. The media keep flashing snow alerts etc. for tonight but I think it will be just rain. More for the weekend?

We started out with rain about 10 last night and it switched over to snow about 12:30 or so with howling winds. We woke up to only about an inch, but it is still snowing.

Was looking forward to seeing your snow stories- but no one has posted any!

We had nothing but a few passing showers....
