Yes, I used to think it was the end of the world when it got down to 50F! And I never even put on a jacket there until it was below 70F -- I didn't have *any* winter clothes when DH & I started dating. 
That sounds so like my story! I'm originally from NC, so I've felt it get down to -4F, but it's rare. I still don't have any "winter" clothes suitable for here! I'm a big larger than most places stock coats, so I still don't have a coat. I have a few long sleeved shirts, a fleece jacket (thin) and a sweater, but that's it!
We are flying to the States for Thanksgiving and my cousin said that it was getting really cold at night now... 40's at night. I told her that was our daytime temps already!
I definitely won't mind snow, I love it! I was born on a day that it was snowing, and I haven't had snow on my birthday since!!!
If it's going to be cold, I want snow. Might as well make it worth it.
