I reckon it might work to just bake it without using the bowl-shape. Wouldn't be as crispy as a typical tostada but might still have some crunch to it and would probably be healthier baking vs frying lol

Also, sidenote, is 2 hours too far to drive for taco bell?  ;)

Just make sure you use the corn tortillas, the flour ones aren't the same.

And heck no! 2 hours, even if it's both ways, is not too far when you have a craving. I used to drive 4 hours (252 miles) one way through the Rockies to go to an awesome burger joint in Denver called Cricket Burger.

Or Drive 90ish minutes into the mountains to go swimming in a hot springs pool and then back again after 2 or 3 hours. haha.

Are you becoming British? haha.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Oh, ok, thanks! I found that picture and I thought, that can't be right because they are not bowl shaped!   :)

I googled it a bit, apparently tostada just means toasted. Makes sense! haha.

This looks quick and easy and doesn't involve frying.  :)

Basically take a tortilla, throw it over a mold in the oven for a few mins. and Bob's your uncle!

I've made these but in a muffin tin. Much less messing about than throwing it over jars. I served mini ones at a party and they went down a treat.

I have also got a big metal bowl I put them in to make taco salad bowls!

Each way or there and back....?  ;)

If I say "each way" would that be a different answer to "in total"? :)

Trying to avoid saying one way, so trying to use confusion tactic.

My career was rocky to say the least.

So at some point you are driving the school bus and you see a Bojangles and say, "Hot dam, chicken and biscuits!"
I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC

I loved Wendy's burgers too and thought they were the best. Burger King was always gross to me.  I liked how Wendy's had a 99cent menu. Ahh miss those American fast food restaurants x

Oh, every fast food place started a 99cent or dollar menu, probably by 2010? I cant remember exacrly when, it could have been sooner. It was around the end of my college years. Those menus have prices ranging from 99cents to $1.29 usually. The Wendy's one was so popular the rest of the fast food places had to compete. Haha

And I agree. Burger King was my least favourite of the burger places. I only had Wendy's after I moved to Colorado. It was always McDonald's when I lived in Minnesota.

Almost time for me to start counting down to my next Taco Bell visit... going to Sheffield for New Year!

I was in Newcastle yesterday and I thought, just maybe... but I checked their website and there isn't one in Newcastle.  If they ever branch out to Glasgow, I am in serious trouble.... that photo of the 'cheesy bacon fries burrito' almost made me cry.  :\\\'(
