Just found this forum :) and happy to see lots of activity.

Here is my timeline, my biometrics were sent in April and my application was sent in May. From what I understand the estimated time from HO is supposed to be based on the biometrics date? Although that doesn't really make sense to me.

Date of Application submitted online: April 22
Date of Biometrics: April 27
Application Mailed:May 3
Received word confirmation email from Sheffield: May 5
Date of status email: Waiting
Date of visa receiced: Waiting

For most visas (I can't really think of an exception at the moment), it is generally the date from which you get the confirmation of docs received email from Sheffield that the HO count begins; or at least, that is when most people on the forum start their countdown.

I haven't seen anything that would really compel me to believe it was the biometrics date.

In the emails I have received from the UKVI they mark weeks from the Biometrics dates. So for example I received one email that said "We will not provide updates for any settlement applications including priority until 12 weeks have passed from the date biometrics were given."

So I know they count the weeks from the biometrics date.

For applications submitted in the US, it's the date it is acknowledged by Sheffield... because the biometrics are taken several days before you actually submit your documents. They can't start processing anything if you haven't sent them your application yet.

However, for most other countries, it's counted from the biometrics date because you submit your application and documents AT THE SAME TIME as biometrics, so they can start processing it right away.

So, the reason UKVI say it's from the biometrics date is because for most people, it IS from the biometrics date. It's the US applications that are the anomaly here.

Ahh true. So fair to say the timeline would be different than the within-US applicants?

I'm from Tunisia and the biometric was before I sent my docs I mean like US
My biometric was 26th May and I sent my docs 8th of June

Thanks Larabee! Nice to be able to communciate with people playing this waiting game.

As per the biometric dates vs actual application dates, it all seems mysterious. The difference in days between my biometrics and actual application is not so long. Taking both dates into consideration, I am approx 6-7 weeks of wating for a pirority settlement spouse visa at the moment. This seems to be in line with other applications from the US at the moment.

Start counting from the fifth of May.  That's how UKVI counts business days for statistical purposes.

Hi from my new flat in London!
Glad to finally be here. Also. Border control only asked me one question "so did you recently get married then?"

So I entered my reference number into the UKVI website and it's always said unrecognised number. Untill today when I popped up with a big green decieded as of the 15th June.  I emailed my lawyer in London and he said he has not got a official email yet but he said I would expect to see your passport and decision letter in 10 working days going on this information...

Very hard not to get to ahead of my self but my belly has got serious butterflies in it since.

Good news though! You should hear back soon… I called on a Wednesday and there had not been any decision and Thursday early morning I got a decision email so hopefully you will hear back soon…

Also me and my fiancé got a laugh because we got an answer  from our escalation inquiry… Two days ago  :D

I think there are four or five people left still who haven't gotten the decision email.

OMG The countdown is so real for you now!
