I massively underestimated how sick I would feel to get the “decision made” email.

We received the email today on a non priority after 26 business days. My mind is going straight to the worst “there must have been something glaringly obvious for a rejection”

I hate to tell you this, but it gets worse! Just wait until you have the package in your hands... it's hard to breathe at that point!  ;D

Is that known to often be true? I’ve just rarely seen it happen so I have no idea what to expect.

Yes, because refusals require more research to ensure they aren't rejecting a visa where there could be a claim to a human rights infringement. They are probably trying to improve stats again ;)

It's ALWAYS true.  I've never seen a quick refusal.

OMG is that true? The longer it takes the more it could mean its been regected? I'm on BD 44 and no end in sight. I'm so worried. How do you guys know that your paperwork is in Sheffield? I had to turn my papers and my passport into some weird outsourced company in Munich. They wouldn't tell me anything. Actually she told me I'd hear back in two to three weeks, ha ha. I've been wondering if it was even a legitimate company. I don't even know who to talk to. I was thinking of calling the American Consulate.

Non priority is currently running about 60 days.  Absolutely no reason to worry.

Did you have to apply at a TLS centre?

Yes, please don't worry. The long waits are usually successful too!  :)

You should have probably used TLS. I used TLS from France. Last time (November 2017) it took me 43 business days for priority application.
Application#1(Fiance)
Bio-metrics Appointment and scan: 16th Nov
Documents Received in Sheffield email: 17th Nov
Decision Made E-Mail: 19th January 2018
43 business days, Rejection
Application #2 Spouse (from France)
Bio-metrics Appointment and docs scan 08 March 2018
Documents Received in Sheffield email: 05 April 2018
Decision made email from Visa center: 25 April 2018
32 business days

No, not at all - a quick decision is an approval, but a slow decision could be either an approval or a refusal.

Two people who paid for priority processing in the US just waited 85 working days and 60 working days (normal times are about 30 working days) and they got approvals.

The American consulate won't be able to help you because you are applying for a UK visa.

However, if you applied in Munich, you would have gone through a TLS Centre (https://uk.tlscontact.com/de/muc/index.php). This is a commercial partner of UKVI and is the only way you can submit your application in Germany.

Your documents will have been transferred to Sheffield within a day or so of your appointment. I think there should be a way to track your application progress on the TLS website.

Yes I was at the TLS center in Munich. Yes I have access to the website but, just like veryone else, there's no information besides the red light / green light. It says papers were received by UK Immigrations. Is that in Sheffield? I wish someone would have told us about the process. If they had told me it was 60 BD, I would have expected this. Sorry to vent, it's just if they had told us this, we'd be fine with it.

I just tell you my experience in TLS France.
1) i had biometrics appointment 8th of March, they scanned my documents and UKVI received them. If it’s written that ukvi received them, than your documents are in Sheffield
2) on 5th of April I received an email from Sheffield confirming the receipt of my application. It seems that for the applications from Europe they send this email now only at the point they start reviewing documents
Application#1(Fiance)
Bio-metrics Appointment and scan: 16th Nov
Documents Received in Sheffield email: 17th Nov
Decision Made E-Mail: 19th January 2018
43 business days, Rejection
Application #2 Spouse (from France)
Bio-metrics Appointment and docs scan 08 March 2018
Documents Received in Sheffield email: 05 April 2018
Decision made email from Visa center: 25 April 2018
32 business days
